Several references to other novels, games, movies...

So this game is full of references of other horror themed art.
Unfortunately a lot of references are instantly spoken out and thereby spoiled from Alan (like Jack Nicholson in Shining) or Barry (Hitchock's The Birds) or other characters. I think references should only be acknowledged by those people who know them.

Anyways, I think I found a nice reference: The sounds that doors make when you open them is the same as in Silent Hill 2. If the door is jammed, I think it's also the exact same sound.
It COULD be a coincidence, since small sounds like this are grabbed out of a huge pool of sounds so there are often the same sound effects in game or movie. But it may as well be an intentional reference. What do you think?
And did you spot any other (not so obvious) references?
