So far the Alan Wake Remaster is a flop...

Reads to me, that the venture for Epic Games is not paying; the same for Remedy. But alas that is probably what is happening if you are willingly skipping one of the largest storefront.

Would have been the Remaster happening without Epic, who knows? Epic covered all production costs, so luckily Remedy is not hurting on that end.

Would there have been a better financial reception if it would be available on Steam; probably.

I would have been interested, but since I get Steam Wallet cards as gifts from friends, I don't see the need of putting extra cash on the Epic Store. Sure, I'm missing out, but so is Remedy. apparently, as they don't get royalties from all the unsold copies. I did enjoy Control btw, a shame I probably won't play other games from Remedy, at least not AW Remaster and not AW2.

The remaster looks awful that alone is enough to drive away an audience. Furthermore Epic Games overestimated Alan Wake as a product, Alan Wake's fanbase is just too small, it has a cult following, which means making it exclusive was a stupid gamble nowhere near on the level of other titles that they make exclusive.

Simply: Alan Wake remastered is practically identical to the old original game, I bought it on Epic but if I had remade the old version I have on Steam, nothing changed. Wasted money.

Well, that is a Remaster for you...

If I would hazard a guess (and this is me really just wildly speculating) is that they wanted Alan Wake 2 and Remedy added the Remaster to the pot, or even Epic asked them to do it, so it brings the brand again in the minds of the people.

Yeah wasnt this remaster mainly aimed at the Sony crowd who never have had it on playstation before. It was a flop originally on 360 when it launched in USA because it was the same release day as Red dead redemption by R* who knew how to make great games back then, now they are all washed up SJW cucks. But Alan Wake had a happy ending on Windows PC in 2012 version when day 2 sales and onward were all profit!
