Its got some cool ideas but Sagas slog of a campaign brings the experience down.
Pretty simple actually, Epic Games purchased Psyonix the makers of Rocket League and had that game removed from Steam and is exclusive now to the Epic Games Store.
One question for you, can you name any current Epic Games owned/published game that is currently available for sale on the Steam store?
Bonus question: Is the F2P game called Fortnite available on Steam?
Epic removed Rocket League from Steam, that isn't the same thing as you claiming that Valve would not allow Alan Wake 2 onto Steam because as you stated
oh, and by the way, Epic owns PC Building Simulator and Horizon Turbo Chase, both games still on Steam.
I specifically said Published games by them, like Fortnite, or Alan Wake Remastered or AW2, Epic Games does not own Horizon Chase Turbo or PC Building Simulator directly, nor the publishing rights like they do with the other games i mentioned.
And even though the games you listed may technically fall under a parent company that is a subsidiary of Epic Games through acquisitions, my point still stands that those are not published directly by Epic Games themselves like the previous ones i mentioned:
Horizon Chase Turbo:
DEVELOPER: AQUIRIS
PUBLISHER: AQUIRIS
PC Building Simulator:
DEVELOPER: Claudiu Kiss, The Irregular Corporation
PUBLISHER: The Irregular Corporation
What studios does Epic own?
Epic Games owns the game developers Psyonix, Mediatonic, and Harmonix, and operates studios in multiple locations around the world.
You literally mentioned Rocket League, which is no different than Horizon Turbo Chase and PC Building Simulator. Epic owns AQUIRIS, and Irregular Corporation. Irregular Corporation is now named Epic Games Publishing.
You are still claiming complete nonsense when you stated this
Epic Games does does not own Irregular Corporation directly, they are owned by the parent company Mediatonic which again I said is their parent company which happens to be subsidiary of Epic Games. These companies do not have Epic Games as their direct Publisher & Operate separately from them as their own Developer & Publisher.
Irregular Corporation is not Epic Games Publishing, it is still it's own company completely separate from them. Epic Games Publishing IS Epic Games themselves.
Here is Irregular Corporations own Website;
https://theirregularcorporation.com/
Directly taken from their own 'About' section
"We’re an independent publisher with a team spread across the world. We provide finance, development and publishing support for games! We work closely with experienced developers around the world to help them create their best work and expose it to a global audience."
© 2024 THE IRREGULAR CORPORATION LIMITED | THE IRREGULAR CORPORATION AND TONIC GAMES GROUP LOGOS ARE TRADE MARKS OR REGISTERED TRADE MARKS OF THE IRREGULAR CORPORATION LIMITED AND MEDIATONIC LIMITED RESPECTIVELY. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED
It is also the exact same with Aquarius Game Studios who are their own developing & publishing company located out of Brazil.
https://www.aquiris.com/#about
It's absolute is different, as Epic Games directly owns Psyonix now, who made Rocket League, along with other Epic Games publishing iterations of the franchise such as Rocket League Sideswipe for Android and iOS in November 2021 and Psyonix's Rocket Racing game mode for Fortnite in December 2023.
In the corporate world, a subsidiary is a company that belongs to another company, which is usually referred to as the parent company or holding company. The parent holds a controlling interest in the subsidiary company, meaning it owns or controls more than half of its stock.
Epic Games owns 'stock' in the company, but they do not solely control the company as like they do with Psyonix which whom they 'Purchased' as an acquisition.
Why was Rocket League removed from Steam at the request of "the Publisher" as soon as Epic Games purchased Psyonix and became their direct owner? Why is Fortnite who is published by Epic Games not available on Steam Store?
The answer is what I've already listed above. Epic Games may own Stock in these companies, but they do not own nor operate them as a controlling entity.
First of all Irregular Corporation hasn't released a game in over 3 years.
Second of all, future games that were announced by Irregular Corporation were released under Epic Games Publishing for example:
Railgrade:
Announced: https://bleedingcool.com/games/the-irregular-corporation-reveals-new-railroad-sim-railgrade/
Released by Epic as publisher: https://www.istudios.se/work/railgrade
Touch Type Tale:
Announced: https://veklar.com/games/touch-type-tale
Released by Epic as Publisher: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcfPv8_M6X4
Look at the credits for PC Building Simulator credits, under Irregular Corporation section.
https://www.mobygames.com/game/106280/pc-building-simulator/credits/windows/
You'll see people that were a part of Irregular Corporation, and then switch to Epic Games Publishing.
Same with Tohu

Here is news from Epic Games, talking about Irregular Corporation joining Epic Games Publishing and bringing games like Good Company over to Epic Games Store
https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/news/good-company-is-out-now-on-the-epic-games-store
Also, Irregular Corporation was a part of the purchase of Tonic Group, Tonic Group owned Mediatonic (Fall Guys developers), and Irregular Corporation. They acquired these companies, not simply own stock, but are the direct owners of these companies
https://www.gamesindustry.biz/epic-acquires-fall-guys-studios-parent-company
And from the PC Building Simulator discord channel, official from Irregular Corporation literally stated that Irregular Corporation became Epic Games Publishing
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3287624013
Horizon Chase 2, developed by AQUIRIS, released by AQUIRIS for the Apple Store, after being bought by Epic, the game released to the PC by Epic Games Publishing. Also AQUIRIS is now known as "Epic Games Brazil"
https://news.aquiris.com.br/en-us
As I mentioned before, they did not not become nor are they solely Epic Games Publishing, they joined which allows them to have their games published via Epic Games.
Rail Grade is available on Steam as well, however it was not Published via Epic Games, yet was published under Minakata Dynamics, Gamera Games. This does not mean that the game was Published on Steam under the Epic Games umbrella.
Touch Type Tale is Published by Mythwright and part of Pumpernickel Game Studio wich is
an Independent Game Developer company located in Münster, Germany
The game last received an update in April of 2023 when they moved over to Epic Games, the actual game itself was not purchased or migrated over as an exclusive to their platform, hence why it's still available on Steam...unlike Rocket League and how that was also acquired as an EGS exclusive when they purchased Psyonix.
Tohu was released on Steam on Jan 28, 2021. Tohu was brought over to Epic Games per your article "With Irregular Corporation joining Epic Games Publishing, we’re bringing their titles to the Epic Games Store." The article is dated October 21, 2021 9 months after the game was already released on Steam, this does not mean Epic Games owns neither published the game via Epic Game Publishing, it means that they joined it in order to bring their games over to Epic Games Store.
Again, these studios have ties to Epic Games now, but the original point being made that was lost...
None of these games you are mentioning are actually Published by Epic Games like Alan Wake 2 or Alan Wake Remastered were. They were both 100% funded AND published directly by Epic Games.
Railgrade and Touch Type Tale both were able to switch their publishers, originally were going to be published by Irregular Corporation, and then Irregular Corporation became Epic games Publishing as I have already proven with news links and screenshots, and then those developers were able to move their publishing to a completely different publisher fairly recently, but both were originally published by Epic Games Publishing until a switch in publisher happened some years after release of the games.
Rocket League is a live service game with MTX/Battle Pass, that is the reason why they stopped providing the game for new users. PC Building Simulator is a single player game, so Epic chose not to remove that game from Steam at all and still provided the new updates as they were being created.
As for Tohu, yes, since again, already proven, Irregular Corporation is Epic Games Publishing, Tohu was published by Epic Games Publishing.
I even provided an actual employee of Irregular Corporation of them saying they are now Epic Games Publishing, I even provided news of Irregular Games being a part of Epic Games publishing. Here is another one from an Irregular Corporation employee stating they are Epic Games Publishing, even stated that the bulk of Epic Games Publishing is from Irregular Corporation
https://i.imgur.com/DfRvSDL.png
Wanna know why Irregular Corporation hasn't released a new game in over 3 years? That is because they are now Epic Games Publishing, which is why games originally set to release for Irregular Corporation (Railgrade and Touch Type Tale) were released under the Epic Games Publishing when they first released.
And the original point you had that wolf iceburg was telling you was nonsense, is you claiming that Steam would not sell Alan Wake 2 onto Steam because Steam wouldn't want to give sales to a direct competitor. And you still have not addressed that point that Wolf Iceburg was correct in stating was complete nonsense.
Your link is broken, '404 We searched high and low, but we couldn’t find the page you're looking for. It may have been moved or deleted, or may never have existed at all.'
I've already stated that AW:R and AW2 are funded and published by Epic Games directly. If you knew about the relationship issues between Gabe and Tim, you would know they don't place nice with each other.
Are there any Steam/Valve owned/published games on the Epic Games store? Tells you what you need to know right there, because it's the same scenario...Valve doesn't let their own games on that store and vice versa. The equivalent would be trying to purchase McDonalds fries at a Burger King. Valves fries are only on Steam, and Epics fries are only on EGS.
I've already addressed Wolf's point and proved it wrong, just like how your own previous article on Irregular Corporation doesn't state they BECAME EGP, but how they JOINED them.
Kindly done with this back and forth now as I'm not here to argue, just to give correct information as to why people shouldn't be expecting AW2 to miraculously show up on Steam as it's pretty clear it's an EGS exclusive due to the contract with Remedy. Good-day!
