Alan Wake 2 Sucks!
I have it on PS5 and I plan to ask for a refund first thing tomorrow. This game is jump scare the video game. It's so cheap how Remedy keeps using the same flash images on screen really fast and cranks up the volume ''jump scare'' that I have seen on hundreds of Newgrounds flash games back in the early 2000's.

AW2 wants to be a survival horror game so bad, but doesn't understand what made Resident Evil 2 remake great. I'm playing on Normal mode and both character's shoe box (aka item boxs) are completely full of health items and ammo LOL FAIL!!!! Remedy made some creepy environments but do nothing with them. It's like they made the game and said "ohh ♥♥♥♥ we forgot to do anything to scare players, QUICK make some flashes appear on screen and have the audio really loud a hundred times.....problem solved!!!"

I will see characters constantly t-posing and Saga will get stuck on the smallest items. I once had to load a checkpoint to get unstuck from behind a bed. Even had a puzzle that was unwinnable until the latest patch. This game lacks polish and will kill immersion. When it comes to steam just avoid this turd because it's not worth your time.

Just go watch the Twin Peaks show instead. Sam Lake is a HACK, stealing ideas from Twin Peaks, and a movie called Darkness Falls. Just goes to show you that this man is a one hit wonder. The only good thing he wrote is Max Payne and I'm starting to wonder if he didn't copy his friend's ideas and took credit for that masterpiece.

Edit: And Control is better than both.
Yepp, Control is better. Unfortunately.

Why unfortunately? The gameplay is awesome and level design is great and story is cool.

Unfortunately because I really really tried liking AW2, but at best it was a mixed bag. While, on the other hand I wasn't expecting anything from Control, and yet, I enjoyed every single minute of it, and it was quite a surpise. Let's just say, I was fooled by the hype of AW2.

It’s not coming to Steam. Epic funded the game. They are too petty to let Steam players experience this mediocre and over hyped game.

It will come to Steam, guaranteed.

The potential money is too lucrative to pass up and from how secretive they have been on actual sales figures, I am going to go out on a limb here and guess their shareholders and investors are not too happy with the performance of this game.

It’s ideological for Little Timmy. He’s clearly shown that he’s willing to blow millions, sack hundreds of employees, just to get his store established.

It might be a little bit off topic, but: James McCaffrey, the voice actor, who made such characters unforgettable as Max Payne, Zacharia Trench and, in Alan Wake 2, Alex Casey.

Rest in Peace, Mr. McCaffrey, and thank you for all your work.

Noooooo! Oh wow, that sucks big time. Only 'celebrity' death that I have actually felt anything about. Terrible news :steamsad:

Kevin Conroy?

I have no idea who this is, or was? But Max Payne was a very significant character to me personally, the original game was what made me a gaming lover way back in 2001

The voice of Batman, yo!
From the animated series, Mask of the Phantasm movie, and the Arkham games

Why am I not surprised.

The moment I see game breaking character changes with no explanation, I know there is another agenda at play, and everything else has taken backseat.

AAAAGHHH - is it any good though? :steamhappy:

I do agree it was maybe not the wisest to sell the game as survival horror. It would've been better to market it more clearly as a game that blends survival horror with the detective or noir adventure game genre.

That said I find it endlessly hilarious how upset people get about this. Get your refund and move on, stop letting Remedy games live rent-free in your head if you don't like them so much. 🤣

I'm only a couple hours into AW2, but I think it's great so far. Only thing I don't like so far is the Mind Place - or rather, to be very specific - using the Case Board to lay out the evidence for Saga's investigations.

I wish the whole Case Board and investigation stuff didn't exist, thb. Feels like every 20 mins or so I find myself standing around for 2 mins wondering if the game is glitched because I can't talk to this person again or interact with some object before I remember I gotta go back to the Mind Place and place a clue on the wall, and then Saga's like 'oh, I should ask so-and-so about this' - like no &*%$, you said that when I first picked it up...

Other than the Case Board nonsense it's great, imo.

That's OK when I switched to PC I cut my teeth on those Frogwares Sherlock Holmes / Mystery Case Files titles when I was over at Big Fish years ago so I'll probably like the clue walls.
