A lot of what I've read sort of says AW2 does worse on the already mediocre combat and does more (but not always better) on the first game's better than average narrative.
Sounds like a pretty standard experience.
So maybe it somehow gets better after that 2 hour mark (which I highly doubt) but that would be the time I requested a refund, would it be purchasable on Steam.
That is because Saga Anderson is a seer, the first song after the first chapter tells you this about Saga, she has supernatural ability.
I felt like the game was running in the woods 80% of the time and the manuscript was too vague. I completed it again before playing AWII and the last chapter was terribly long and boring.
AW II is a piece of art with complex construction and crafting. I like the post chapter exploration and characters (you couldn’t explore anything especially the city in AW1). And also the surreal feeling and complex symbolism, mixture of live action, etc.
But yes in a way it can feel like a good movie but average to mediocre game. I played on story difficulty after trying normal. But AW1 was not that a good game too, it was average, just a little bit better.
I just finished the part where you go through the subway, and god it was boring. Just puzzle after puzzle with barely any combat encounters at all...
I honestly almost fell asleep and i'm not liking the way they tell the story at this point either.
Your last part of your sentence there tells everyone that you opinion here cannot be taken seriously at all.
The writing is the worst part, right off the bat they are kissing her ass like she is the only FBI agent with a functional brain. Oh Saga, you are so smart, oh Saga, you are so much better than all of us, we are putting you in charge of everything just because you are you! Sickening pandering that was clearly inserted by the racist jackasses they hired to botch this game.
The dialogue with the guy at the transformator house just had me rolling my eyes. WE GET IT, SHE IS FINNISH ánd BLACK, Halleluja.
I turned this tripe off after 2.5 hours. Didn't even get to see Alan.
Yes. I agreed that the amt of items is considered quite alot compared to RE2/3. The shoe box storage is limited in space unlike RE2 /3 storage box.. feel abit awkard..
Story wise. I can;t comment fully becoz i still in progress playing. I at alan wake: Act 7: Mask. So far i enjoy e story and pacing. With story-based game, i think it is good to keep the combat small and limited to fully enjoy the atmosphere and story.
I think AW2 is similar to death stranding. I think only ppl who are more patient and not combat hungry players like myself will appreciate such game more.
Lastly my own personal preference, i will like prefer a more attractive female lead character such as Jill.V in order to enjoy more and eye-candy.
Overall i still regard AW2 is a good game.
It's pretty clear that you've never actually had a girlfriend in real life
So if you are looking for ”boring” Fiat person monster shooter you don`t like AW2… it is completely different from those games. So it depends on what kind of games you like or not like. I love Twin Peaks and maybe that is why I like Alan Wake games the AW2 in special.
There are about 5 or six games that can win GOTY this year…
Zelda, most popular, so most likely to win
Hogwards Legasy, the most popular fransise, so also very near to win
BG3, super popular fantasy rpg
Alan Wake 2, incredible looking next get audio visual experiment, with good music and good, but really whacky story, most likely too strange and wrong genre to win though
Starfield… could win with Old merits…. But BG3 does everything it does so much better… so maybe not
A couple of more candidates, but not likely to go above these 5… BG3 did take allmost all Golden joystic awards, but it is little different from GOTY…
Running around an apartment turning on a bunch television sets is not gameplay modern devs.
