Alan Wake 2 Texture Streaming Issue
There seems to be some real issues with Texture streaming in the game. When I go into the mind place and come back, some object textures are missing and everything looks blurry.
They should have used DirectStorage for the PC version it seems. I am running it on a NVME Gen3 SSD.
You have to reboot the game to fix it, and then it happens again after playing for some time.

Yeah I'm getting the texture streaming issue thing too.

It's almost like a VRAM memory leak of some kind or something because it gets noticably worse over time.

This right here I've noticed the more I played the game in a long session the more the game seemed to break.

Running out of VRAM?

same thing happens here with a Rx 6950xt 16gb vram and a nvme gen 4 so, yep, it's a game bug.

Have you used the windows "optimize" function for the drive it's installed on lately? Also, is the drive it's installed on more than 90% full?
No. More than 50% free disk space.
Also regarding Optimize, should I even defragment a SSD? Doesn't seem necessary.

It was the same in Control, engine has LOD problems

"Optimize" is not necessarily defragmentation as it is know in relation to hard drives. Windows 10+ just says "optimize" as a general term. If it is a actual platter hard drive, it will do the old school, appropriate defragmentation process. If it is an SSD or NVME (ie. flash based media) "optimize" means running the TRIM function. Which is actually very critical to performance. You can look it up. Either way; running "optimize" on drives should be scheduled to run automatically at an optimal periodic spacing or used as a matter of diagnosing issues.

TRIM is already enabled.

Running the game off a corsair mp510 which is an older SSD, no issues for me. I do play the game on medium preset without RT so maybe that's less demanding in that sense too?

Same problem here, the ground textures also just pop out of the ground and ruin the whole look of the game

if you're having issues turn down some settings.

I have turned down the settings and even at the lowest of lowest settings, the games ground textures pop up and ruin everything and everything looks like a ps2 game

If you use Radeon GPU. AMD patched texture flickering issue on latest driver.

I am also experiencing this issue. I noticed that the low quality textures are more present from the middle of the game onward, specially in Alan Wake's segments. The Hotel, for instance, is a blurry mess, no matter if I just started the game, if I go there, textures simply wont load properly and the map will be in terrible quality as well.
I wish they patch this somewhere in the future.

Big brain academy, some people just need to hear the obvious.
