Men were making games for men. That's why you had more explicit content, cleavage, ♥♥♥♥ like that in games. Ofc girls were always more than welcome to join, but that was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rare. Now all of a sudden everyone who previously didn't even give a flying ♥♥♥♥ about the whole thing or even ridiculed gamers for being gamers want a huge slice of this cake and want us excluded, reform the whole industry for their liking. Basically a perpetual gamergate scandal.

Games used to have male protagonists, because people were not questioning basic biological facts like these days when people claim girls can do everything and even better than men, but when shameless men pretending to be the opposite sex, who were dead last among their own, winning gold medals against them, truth hit them hard. Woke eating woke. That's the irony. The whole world has become an astronomical clown show.

At least that ♥♥♥♥ will be egs exclusive, so there won't be any dilemma on my part regarding whether I should spend buy it or not. I'll gladly ignore it.

Making nerds happy is anathema now. It's almost obligatory to insult old fans that helped put a tentpole franchise on the map and actively exclude them. Gatekeeping needs to return. It got a lot of heat back then but in less than a decade of throwing the doors open, everything's gone downhill into the most horrendous media nonsense I've ever seen, and old fans got kicked out of the same fandoms they helped create. They demanded that you be more inclusive of their ideas of how this media "should" be rather than cherishing it for it is in spirit, and then they locked the gates on you.

Now you have the activist coterie with a renewed splurge in their hatred against gamers because 2/3rds of Odyssey players picked the guy in spite of canon and all that Kassandra hype on social media. Years later, people still fondly remember the "generic yT mAyL" protagonists yet have forgotten the diverse Bay Area self inserts in less than one.

Heh "woke eating woke", nailed it. Why I stay out of both sides of that particular debate.

Look at super mario bros 2. You can play as princess peach. The title even has Bros in it. Yet I dont see any rhetoric propaganda being spread about that.

What about in RE 2 playing with Claire or RE3 where you play as Jill whole game. Did anyone care? No. Than Capcom added another female lead in Code Veronica X.

What about metroid? Guys still bought the game even after they found out it was a girl underneath the suit. No one cared. All those games went on to sell a huge amount with rave reviews.

Its not politics. Its not biological facts. Its just about some gamers being entitled and childish. They need grow up.

It seems Remedy will give you a choice to play as AW or Anderson. So at least there is a choice on what character you want to play with.

"Their journeys echo and foreshadow each other, in this intense atmospheric story, taking players on two separate dark and disturbing paths. I don't get it, what about it? Game is called resident evil. It's about an outbreak, not about a single writer, who's trapped in his own creation.
Re2 had two perspectives with 2 new characters, 3rd one had Jill. I don't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ get what you are trying to say. There has always been female leads and sidekicks in games, a fact that gamergate tried to sweep under the rug pretending that it has always been men in the spotlight so they demanded change.

Ok, so you are clearly oblivious of what we are talking about here. No one cared because it was her game, wasn't retconned years later the fact that she was a girl, it was immediately revealed by the end of the first game, it was a surprise to the players. You act like gamers hate women.

It's nothing to do with skin colour. What people are sick of are these diverse strong flawless female characters coming into a game or movie that's not named after them and being the main character, like that new Indiana Jones movie. The titular male character will no doubt need rescuing by the strong female character numerous times and never, but never need assistance from Alan. He will be told how his old ways just don't cut it anymore and her methods are always best and he will agree because he knows his place in the world now. Alan will be constantly cowering and being rubbish while miss perfect does the right thing every single time and eventually replaces his useless male ass.
