It's not going to release this year. I mean, we got 5 months to go if you go by this and nothing was shown except a concept trailer over a year and a half ago when it was announced. Nothing since.

I still believe that this will be delayed well into 2024.

That link is an interview that IGN did with Same Lake in December 2021 after the announcement. He states more will be shown over the next summer, but Remedy nor Epic have shown anything and they have gone radio silent since.

Its not outdated at all as it clearly shows Sam saying they will release more AW2 info but they never did. Not a good sign.

Also, Matthew Porretta said they are in the middle of working on it now, and it's "supposed" to release in October. However, he also states he was just in Finland working on it with Remedy.

So if he is still working with them this close to release. It leads me to believe they still have a lot more work to do. If not, they are going to be crunching very hard to get this out this year.

With what he said I am more skeptical now that it will release this year. Especially in less than 5 months time.

Even if Epic could release (paradoxically) Half Life: Episode 3 it wouldn't drive me to use their store, so Alan Wake 2 is an easy pass. Shame on Remedy for going engaging with an Epic exclusive deal.

They didn't do an exclusive deal, they did a publishing deal. Epic is the publisher for the game, Epic fully funded the development, they are the publisher of the game, making it a first party game for Epic Games Store. Remedy finally got to make Alan Wake 2, a game they been trying to get developed for over a decade. The game exists because Epic is paying for it to be developed.

Sorry but it is a exclusive for PC which is only available on Epic Games Store nowhere else only funny how it going to be available on both Xbox and PlayStation console.

Still time to be a delay. Especially since the trailer showed so little. Sons of the forest got a delay right right before release date and moved to EA. LoU was delayed about a month before its release. So its not like it doesnt happen so close to release.

But if I am wrong I will be glad. I am looking forward to playing this.

I was just messing around, delays can certainly happen but with epic backing them up I´m 99% sure it´s going to launch on time. If it was 505 again then yeah, I wouldn´t believe a 2023 release.

Most likely yes. This trailer is just a remake of the one from Quantum break. What this vid is telling you is that Alan wake is having trouble breaking free from the void. It's inline with American nightmare.
