Stop moaning about Epic exclusivity and support Remedy.
Look, it sucks that the game is an Epic exclusive on PC. None of us like the Epic Store, and none of us want to use it.

But the only reason Alan Wake II is even getting made is because Epic agreed to finance and publish the thing. This isn't a situation where they asked a company like Square to make Kingdom Hearts an Epic exclusive. Epic is paying for production. Remedy reached out to other publishers after Microsoft passed in favor of Quantum Break, and no one else wanted to finance the thing. Years passed, and finally Epic stepped in.

Epic is the only reason Alan Wake II even exists. So there's one of two options here: either the game never got made, or the game got made with the backing of Epic.

If you want to support Remedy, buy it on Epic or on console (Alan Wake II will be the only game I've ever purchased on Epic, because I want to support the people that made the game possible).

If you insist on sailing the high seas to play this game, fine. But know that you're directly contributing to making it harder for another Alan Wake game to get made later, as further stories in this series are contingent on the game making money for Epic. If the game flops, Remedy will have to find another publisher to finance a third game.

It is always disgust me when people who have no idea about game developer's situation, act like they know everything about them, and try to dictate what best for developers and the games they made.

I don't have to know ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about Remedy's situation to know Epic is bad news. I guess if Sam Lake tells me that the Epic representative put a gun to his head and told him to sign the contract, I'd understand, but that's about the only leeway I'd give.
Right... I hope you grow up soon. That ignorance and entitled mentality can only get you so far in real life.

They are anti consumer, they wont release a physical version on consoles which will make many people boycott the game.

In that case, valve is anti consumer too. They don't sell physical copies for csgo or dota2 on consoles. They don't even sell those games on consoles as digital copies.
I will offer another perspective.

As much I love AW and Control and Remedy in general, if without Epic AW2 couldn't be made, then it doesn't need to be made. Period.

Epic's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ attitude towards Linux is absolutely downright deplorable, and that's just one reason they aren't the good people here in this story.

Then your perspective is even more deplorable.

If you want to spin around steam for all your gaming life, good for you. But don't expect anyone else to do the same, let alone suffer when some games are not coming to steam. Most of use are not steam fanboys, and we want AW2 to happen regardless if it's on steam or not.

And about linux, Epic may not have a super active roles in supporting the platform. But that doesn't mean the company is evil, it's just business. I'd rather epic improve their foothold on one platform first than doing half-baked job to support all platforms.

It is also pointless for you people to complain about epic not supporting linux, because I'm 99.9% sure you won't use epic even if they do support Linux. Heck, judging by your first statement alone, I know that you steam fanboys would rather see the whole world burns than seeing epic making profit from it.

If Epic financed the game then why are there console versions then?

F**k epic hypocrites and their hypocrite shills

No Steam/GOG = no buy.

Greedy Fks, that's why.

Support remedy for not releasing the physical version, I DONT THINK SO!!!
Yep

Go ♥♥♥♥ yourself. Alan Wake got funding because it was a marketable prospect. Remedy could have leveraged that make their game without selling their souls,

Exactly

It would hurt epic sales because epic and remedy now has to share 30% with gog if the game release there.

Anyway, unlike steam, Epic has official support on gog galaxy. You can buy epic games directly from gog galaxy app and start the game without epic launcher. Gog get a cut too.
So you just confirmed that everyone and their dog would buy on GOG if given the choice?
I never said that lol :D

What happened with "millions would prefer on Epic because they built their libraries there"?
GOG shouldn't be a threat to Epic version, no?
Most people would buy from epic. But regardless how small the gog sales will be, it still hurt epic sales because some of those sales would be directed to epic store if the game is epic exclusives.

I also hope epic would release AW2 on gog just because gog and cdpr is nice enough to release Witcher3 and cyberpunk on epic.
Messaggio originale di Babi Gendut:
Speaking of hypocrisy, don't you have games like persona 5 and dozens of steam exclusives games? Those games aren't available in gog too. And yet you're okay with the developers and publishers who skip gog and even support them, but not for epic?

I'm no hypocrite. Even though I am okay with epic exclusive, I'm also okay with steam exclusive like sekiro, nier automata, dark souls series, etc and bought them on steam. Unlike you.

So who's the f*king hypocrites again?
1. Gaben, CD Projekt CEO and other didn't cry how they hate monopolies and exclusivity, but Timmy The Tencent did.
Who is timmy the tencent?
Did he cry about csgo or dota2 not on epic store?

2. Personas aren't Steam exclusive, they're also on MS Store. And the reason why they're not on GOG is because SEGA put denuvo in them. Once DRM is removed, they'll come to GOG too just like recent Yakuza franchise.
Then you should be okay waiting until AW2 become DRM free and release on GOG.

Also why do you have yakuza franchise on steam? I thought gog people will buy games only when they're DRM free? Did your arguments about gog vs epic are nothing but a lip service to hide the fact that you're a steam fanboys like some people here?

So when can we expect AW2 on Steam, GOG and MS Store?
When can we expect csgo, dota2, elden ring, persona 5 etc on epic store?

Probably never as it's Epic exclusive.

TLDR; Greed
How can I support Remedy if they sell a game on a scammy platform I have chosen to not use?
In my eyes they just don't want our money, Epic is horrible and pretty much everyone hates it.

You are out of your mind if you think I'll pay Epic to play any game on their platform. May be some other day, not today. Not when they have zero regard for Linux.

If that's the only way AW2 could be built then fine. The world revolves around capitalism, and I have other games to play which are and will be equally good or better; even if AW2 turns out to be as excellent as we all hope it will be.

Could not agree more

Don't worry though, there are just a very few 'handfull' of guys pushing Epic's dirty agenda on steam forums. They have a certain motive to push and they fail to do so :)

How can you support remedy if they don't make AW2 at all, because no one pay them to make it? With epic at least they made a game that people on pc (epic) and consoles will buy and play.

I know you guys have limited brain capacity because it's filled up with so much rage against epic, but try to think for a second there.

In my eyes they just don't want our money, Epic is horrible and pretty much everyone hates it.
Not everyone. Most epic haters have been moved on since epic offer them free games. And there are consoles people who never cared about steam vs epic.

Tldr, epic haters are just a relic from 3 years ago, and your numbers keep dwindling.

That's their fault resorting to Epic, it's an anticonsumer move and they can't expect us to not have ethics.
Free games are just a distraction to make people forget how bad Epic is, I don't fall for it.

I would rather buy my games instead of resorting to other means but yeah, their choice.
Hot take here but the remastered version sucks, yes I have played it got it on playstation and wow what a mess, the characters look ugly, the controls are worse and the frames are even worse plagued with more bugs, to top it off I was watching a you tuber play Alan Wake they got the remastered version first from epic games store and well after a while of not working they refunded it and went to steam to buy this better version even tho there PC can handle other powerful games, it's nice to have it back but it would be nice if it was like the old one and not turning into mass effect andromeda with its character models

I thought I was the one didn't like the remaster, remaster does not look good, I have 4090 and and I had it to full max settings. It looks shait, junky controls, I play first one and really enjoyed it, remastered one I refunded :) if it was on steam I probably would have left it in my library but it was on Epic hence the refund.

AW2 , not buying it now. Until Steam release, if it doesn't release on steam well too bad. No remedy game going forward.
