Alan Wake Causes Laptop CPU Temps To Go More Than 95 Degrees! - SOLVED!
Has anyone had problems with this game making your CPU temps go through the roof?

My GPU temps stay in the 70-80 degrees Celsius range. Perfectly normal. But my CPU temps start from 70, going all the way up to 97 degrees during extended play.

I know I'm using a laptop but I play perfectly fine with Fallout 4 and Witcher 3. How is a game this old supposed to overheat my CPU when the above-mentioned games are more demanding and working just fine?

Asus X550J
CPU - i7 4720HQ
GPU - GTX 950M
RAM - 8GB

This link is to a pretty old discussion on this, but AW can be surprisingly intense on systems. Do you have V-Sync turned on? If not, give that a shot.

Weird. If your lappy can handle Witcher 3 then AW should be cake. Wish I could help. Try putting all settings on low, if that helps than turn some things on and see what sets off the CPU.

I finally found a solution. Whenever my framerate goes in the higher 40's, the CPU begins to raise temps above 95 degrees Celsius. I downloaded Nvidia Inspector so that I can cap my framerate to around 39 frames per second. Upon doing that, the highest temp my CPU would reach is 91degrees Celsius. Still quite hot but never going any higher than that already.
