Fps/performance issues.
Just got this game today cause I heard it was about to be removed from steam. Started up the game and it looked gorgeous. God, it really does. Just one tiny problem.. I looked up to see my fps from msi afterbunner and its at 17... Ok, thats odd I thought. I can handle most old games (around 2012) on max and be getting around 40-60 fps at 2560x1440.. So I tried setting to the lowest settings and BAM 3 fps boost. Tried 1080p, 5 fps boost. I looked at task manage to see my cpu usage and its says 3%... kind of low. Anyways, I know I dont have a great pc but this is crazy. Here are the specs..

Windows 10 64 bit

Intel core i7-4770 at 3.10ghz quardcore
8 gigs of ram
amd r9 270x 2gb vram

its an AMD issue as there are plenty of reports about this. I got rid of my 480 because of random crap like this in older games.

really that is not impressive for such an old game.

and as I already mentioned its an issue this game has with many AMD cards.

I would like to point out that I had a similar issue with fps drops right at the beginning during the tutorial, but it did get better as I went along. Not sure if that helps but do with that as you will.

AMD user? and some people blame Win 10 when I have played this on multiple Win 10 setups using Nvidia cards with zero issues.

EDIT: here it is at 4k with all settings maxed including 8x AA

Yep I just think it's an AMD specific issue. I have Windows 10 as well, but this seems to be exclusive to AMD cards.

This performance is crap. I've spent the past hour trying for better results but nothing. Also no audio in cutscenes. Will it help if I update my gpu drivers or would that be pointless?

l also use an AMD card and while my FPS are great l get weird screen flickering and screen tearing even with v-sync in game or through radeon pro.

the only thing that will fix it is getting an Nvidia gpu. AMD does not give a damn about the issues they have in older games.

One more thing. Any way to turn down the fog-effects?

you have to drop shadows to low in a 4 year old game on a modern mid range gpu? I did not have to do that even with a dinky 750 ti to get 60 fps.
