The Writer Reaching the lighthouse
Hi, I need some help with this part in the game. I am trying to reach the light house in The Writer episode. The thing is, the path is completely dark, only sporadically illuminated by the rotating light from the lighthouse which then destroys the Taken if they are nearby. The problem is I have no idea where to go as the path is literally pitch dark except for my flashlight which is rather useless and the brief light from the lighthouse

Looking at the walkthroughs online, the path seems to be totally visible. Have I missed something here? Is there a generator I was supposed to start or something?

Anyone else in the same situation? Thanks

The only thing to do there is turn on the lighthouse, but apparently you did it so... The path actually is pretty straightforward, just burn the rocks with your lantern and follow the yellow dot on your radar whenever you're not sure where to go.
Ya, I eventually found my way. It just got a bit confusing as I was falling off a cliff following the radar. Although, I am still not sure why the walkthroughs I came across had the path all illuminated

Probably your brightness settings. Try to go to the options and see how your brightness is.

You make your own way with lantern creating rocks and stuff.
Change some of your graphic settings

I would be better for you to post a screenshot, but i get what you're saying, something similar happens to me at times, you see, theres some secuences on the game where the darkness gets more intense, and the screen goes really dark for a second, thats part of the engines dynamic lighting and must be scripted.

The problem occurs to me when i minimize the game and maximize it again after a while without closing it -obviously- if you open a lot of tabs on your browser you're gonna overwrite the RAM that was on the game, when it load back up it will act wierd, thou this is just a theory of mine.

If you encounter situations like this in the future maybe verifying your game cache will do the trick
thanks for your responses. I didn't think of the brightness levels as everything else seemed to be fine as in "normal". I initially thought it was the design of the game where your path gets illuminated and you move forward only when the lighthouse turns around. Anyways, I managed to finish the game now, so it doesn't matter

I had the same problem and thought it was just my poor orienteering skills. The patth was definitely not illuminated for me.
