Character sliding, music cuts out, menus break

Been running to an issue in the mountain pass that I'm at my wits end with. Begins when I start to enter the temple with the music cutting out. Then character models will start to slide and even occasionally T-pose. Then menus will break including the escape menu not opening. Then I can't interact with the world and it will end withe the game completely freezing. Whats even more frustrating is if I try to kill the game (altF4 and task manager) It will occasionally brick my whole pc and I'll have to hard reboot. Is anyone having this issue? I think it's the waterfall in the area but I'm not certain. graphics turned down to low and it will still happen.

Check your GPU drivers. And graphics settings. That fixed this issue for me.

If you're running mods, disable them.. if not, check your settings to see if anything changed. There have also been a lot of reports on issues regarding transitioning out of/to the mountain pass. But yours sounds even more like a technical mess..

Remove mods, if you use them. Verify your game files. Check your graphic settings, maybe even reduce for a bit to see if that solves anything.. if not, send a report to Larian as that is some massive breakage.

No mods and verified files twice. I think there is some kind of memory leak

Especially if you have verified files, check ALL the game settings as they will likely have been reset to Ultra/Auto.

Yes... the game crashed twice today, once when loading from another area to the mountain pass (nowhere near the waterfall), 2nd crash when the Zathisk blew up. I am also having textures not loading properly, characters gliding instead of walking, and the 'T' pose... Impossible and unpleasant playing ATM... Hopefully they will patch the patch soon.

Honestly, check your PC settings, check your game settings. My rig is well on the low side but I am not getting those issues anymore after updating GPU drivers and following some advice from the aforementioned guide.
