Handedness
I'd love to be able to choose my character's hadnedness.

Also, I'd like to be able to put something in my offhand (either a weapon or a shield) without the game automatically switching it to my dominant hand just because the dominant hand is empty.

For example, I'd love to be able to place a rapier in my offhand while leaving my dominant hand empty so that I can do something else with my main action (cast a cantrip, for example), and then use offhand attack. Even if I can't do that with a non-light weapon, I'd still like to be able to do it with a light weapon.

Here's the scenario: I really like using Vicious Mockery, and then following up with an offhand attack. But how much cooler would it be if I could put a shield in my main hand and a rapier in my offhand? Then I could use Vicious Mockery and follow up with an offhand attack with the Rapier. If not Rapier, then Short Sword. And still get the Shield bonus to AC.

You cannot use offhand attack after casting a spell as you don't take the Attack action.

Two-Weapon Fighting
When you take the Attack action and attack with a light melee weapon that you're holding in one hand, you can use a bonus action to attack with a different light melee weapon that you're holding in the other hand. You don't add your ability modifier to the damage of the bonus attack, unless that modifier is negative.

If either weapon has the thrown property, you can throw the weapon, instead of making a melee attack with it.

There is 0 mechanical advantage/use of holding something in your off-hand if your main hand is empty.

Other than that again, sure why not, but do not prioritize.

BG3 already lets you use your bonus action to make an offhand attack, even if you haven't used your main hand attack.

You can in BG3.

In the old GURPS rules, being left handed actually gave you bonuses to attack rolls.
I was just thinking about this today, and I hope they have plans to implement it.

Another thing that would be useful, would be if the game didn't force 'main handedness' at any time. Like, just let us put whatever weapon we want in either hand, stop the auto-switching of weapons.
