Also Swashbuckler is probably going to be a popular one.
But the two I'm looking forward to most is Bladesinger and Drunken Master.
is larian even trying? amirite or amirite
The big question for me is the SwarmKeeper, but then I've always felt that ranger companions should be an individual or pair (at most a small group) of mammals, avians, or semi-intelligent mystic type creatures...I don't get the whole swarm idea for a ranger...especially with the insects they seem to be focusing on here as that was more druid in my mind.
On the other hand, I'm looking forward to Swashbuckler and especially want to see their implementation of the Blade Singer.
MHO: a proper Swashbuckler should be able to disarm, trip, flourish, and stagger opponents with swordplay using a saber or cutlass. Also have ripostes and parries against the enemy. Now, I will admit, they can, if you take some dips into swords bard or battlemaster or just take the martial adept feat. I just think a proper swashbuckler should be able to do all these things innately. Why lock them all behind battlemaster.
The interesting thing is a Swashbuckler Rogue CAN trip and disarm opponents through Cunning Strikes on their Sneak Attack ... BUT, Larian didn't implement Cunning Strike, that too requires a mod. There's also a new mod that adds a rogue dagger that gives you Basic and Advanced Cunning Strike as long as you are wielding the dagger. (Fortunately, you can have a sword in your other hand.)
The homebrew Pirate subclass at Nexus had all that proper swashbuckling abilities. I loved it. Plus you got a pet parrot that could mock your opponents, challenge people to duels, use firearms (but you had to GET them from Artificer), breathe fire while drunk (LOL), and the ability to summon a pirate treasure chest full of rum. Too bad the author won't move it over to mod.io. As a result, it won't play well with other rogue subclasses if you don't have CF.
There is a custom mod.io mod class called Dual Wielder, and another one called the Duellist, that have some of these abilities. The Duellist ... eh, it's very much a rough "WIP" and unfinished and the author won't even take questions as their mod forum is locked. The Dual Wielder is cool, but their abilities, as the name would suggest, ONLY work if you are dual wielding. If you want to be a dashing one handed swordsman with a rapier or cutlass in only your main hand, ... not for you.
The lack of psionic classes ... well, fortunately, Mind Weaver, Mystic, Kith'rak at Nexus, Soulknife, and the Psi Warrior have stepped up to the plate, and you can get Aberrant Mind as a mod. Mystra's includes a lot of the 5E psychic/psionic spells. There should be ways for Githyanki like Bae'Zel to acquire psionic prowess without having to do the awful thing of becoming part-ghaik.
Personally, I wish they had done Oath of the Watchers, instead of Oath of Conquest or Oath of the Crown. But if Larian's not gonna do it, I wish some modder would, the version at Nexus is abandonware. Please note, that was just an idle wish, not a demand. LOL.
Part of me is hoping they'll add some new items that would go along with them.
(With all the extraplanar beings you face in this game ... it's really one that SHOULD be there.)
Honestly surprised we didn't get Sun Soul Monk, given how popular it is, and how starved for ranged combat options the current Monk subclasses are.
Drunken Master sounds like fun, don't get me wrong; but I've been playing this game since the first days of early access, and I never found or used enough alcohol in the game to make the sub class seem like a viable option for a full playthrough.

Includes Sun Soul, Kensei, Ascendant Dragon, and Drunken Master. Whether they will remove Drunken Master when Larian releases their own version (they removed Arcane Archer from the 5E Fighter subclasses)... don't think they've said yet.
I personally prefer the homebrew Ki Duellist to Kensei (there's another one called Way of Steel, but that one blows), as a katana-wielding/swordsmaster monk. Then there's Cosmic Soul monk, which is just as nutty as Cosmic Sorcerer, although they are not by the same people.
If you're gonna do Kensei or Ki Duellist, check out the Eastern Weapons SuperPack, which includes katanas, wakizashi, odachis (2 handers), and shuriken. Yes, at long last, throwable shuriken have arrived.
