Honor mode Ketheric is absolutely wild
I did the mistake of not killing Karniss and this is absolutely insane so far, I had 2 tanks 1-turned instantly by Ketheric and the merry band of bones.
Dude rolls up, clicks on the "Frighten" button and locks everyone in place while 15 skelly boys deal 70 necrotic per turn on their favorite gas bag (This time Jaheira, goodbye my beloved)

I mean, its already joever. Ketheric sprinted through the entire squad just so he could deal 80 damage to Jaheira and 1-tap her. Just step out of the Spindleweb debuff ? Nah, Deadful aspect, stay still little boi. Also, since all of Slayer's attacks are based on movement, all of a sudden, my main damage character is completely useless...
DW tho, Aylin, which is usually helpful, decided to go around attacking the Necromites and fail to kill any 2 rounds in a row

Minthara got hit with 150 damage before her turn and instantly died. Also, it was pointless since the skelletons stayed far away and I had to use every turn on life cleric to heal

The fact we are locked to only 4 characters actively away from camp is a massive annoyance and it feels like an under-membered party cuz I've like 95% of tabletop campaigns been part of groups that are 5-6 people. Especially an issue when you get those very insane encounters that expects you to know it is gonna happen, or you get curbstomped repeatedly cuz you had social character and sneakyguys along rather than some uberhealth tanks that can multiattack and take out many mook-enemies at the same time.

Just barely managed to get Minthara on her feet (She had to survive a turn even tho ketheric and Karniss wanted her booty) and hit your boy ketheric with a smite. We survived 4/5 wiped with Shadowheart at 15 HP.

Hm what I don't see here... does your team not have the first initiative? All of them enemies in that fight have rather low initiative numbers, with only Kar'niss even having the "Alert" feat, so if you yourself have "Alert" (as is very recommended) + some initiative items then you should certainly be first in the round. Meaning that a good part of the Necromites should be gone the first round with some AoE spell (like "Ice Storm"), and maybe some "Darkness" for the rest (on top of the ice surface, or "Evards Black Tentacles" etc.)?

(granted I didn't do yet the fight on Honour as I postponed my playthrough to wait for some issue resolving of those potential patch 6 issues, so if I'm a fool than I'm just a fool, but coming first in initiative is probably the very best thing for this mode, or I'd even call it mandatory...)

Karniss basically plants himself right in front of your squad and forces you to go through him after he destroys one of your. Just so happens that that some1 was my Paladin...

So in other words, as you avoided a clear answer, no one in your team has high initiative? Then you'd really change that!

Kar'niss has (looked it up @the-wiki) 3 Base + 5 from Alert + 3 from DEX... I have at least 2 that have more, and everyone of my chums have at least the Alert feat. When I fought that guy (in the fields with the ambush) the very first thing I did was cast "Hold Monster" (from a scroll) on him, so he was certainly out the first 2 rounds (yes it was easier with the Harpers, but was enough to get some better positioning).

Ahh, not killing Karniss earlier, bold move Cotton. I actually have never had to face him with Ketheric, sounds like a bad plan on Honour. I've always found that fight to be trivial, but I can see with Karniss that it would not be.

I was deathly afraid of the Apostle fight but had no problem this weekend on Honour, just took a while. Actually leaving Aylin "in prison" past the first round helped keep her alive longer.

Myrkul is just a bit problematic for melee chars, because you are bone chilled next to him, so you can't be healed. Otherwise, you can reach lvl 9 or 10 before the fight and the quartermaster or roah starts selling chain lightning scrolls. Then you just need rain dancer or a cleric with create water and blast myrkul from further away.

With a party, the fight is really easy. On honour mode, you actually should know the game allready.

Was it a critical of some sort? I played it after patch 6 with sorcerer-bard, SH (trickster cleric), Minthara, Astarion. I wa level 9

My experience was quite different. Shadowheart was brought to half -health and she got attacked (her AC was 20). A lot. Ketheric was neutralized by the time he got to attack us (I concentrated all fire on Ketheric), I landed hideous laughter on Kar'niss (70% chance so there was some luck).

I think the right gear helps a lot.

Minthara had the gloves that give her heroism when she uses her oath. The tadpole power for autocrit on Minthara and the executioner ring help a lot, too. The adamantine shields and armor can make immune to crits. The blood of Lathander helps, too

I strongly recommend it and spells such as aid, deathward that can give your character a bit more resilience.

P.S. For boss fights I strongly recommend the elixir of vigillance on at least one character. My main also has alert feat, which is very underrated feat.

if you get frightened so easily your party is already weak. You can tank him with summons, let him waste smites on them. I also had like 140-150 HP barbarian half-orc with death ward if needed. I mean come prepared for honor mode, no? Maximum damage ive seen from him is like 50-60, and he should only have like 1-2 turns at best

yea and leaving spider man is a mistake, hes much stronger than ketheric

Wow. I've always murked karniss on the way in from mountain pass, never knew he parked by ketheric. Damn. Kind of want to try this fight now.

As the guy above said, initiative is very important. It's huge to take out the mooks with a fireball or two before they can go.

Ketheric does big single target damage, didn't know he had a frighten. I've always been big on radiating orb and reverb, also the reeling heavy xbow on an archer character. You can quickly nerf bosses into oblivion -10 attack roll territory. That xbow is OP tbh.
