its GOOD for multiclassing, especially on DW character that stack extra damage and its GOOD if you play with minimum casters OR make a very very clever positioning, probably use spells before going melee with it.
Its effects are unique to barb and quite powerful. Its not a straightforward class, but if used properly proficiency on saving throws? If you gnome? Yes please, you immune to magic.
If you're min/maxing though Beserker barb with a returning weapon is by far the strongest and it's not even remotely close.
Yes you get benefits of tavern brawler, you equip 1d4 throwing damage items + enraged throw knocks targets prone, from my expirience almost 100% chance
According to the BG3 wiki, Barbarians use Charisma as their Spellcasting ability for the purposes of determining spell save DC.
Wild magic Barbs are fun because they’re unpredictable, but that can sometimes backfire…and any spells etc they get from the Wild Magic Surge are bonus actions so you don’t get to use them on the turn in which you rage (because Rage is a bonus action).
Some of the spellcasting abilities (like summoning an exploding Flumph) are pretty meh, but there’s one that’s a bonus action teleport which is hilarious, and ones that boost your weapon damage etc.
