Depends on how this game goes, if they do any supplementary DLC like a higher level adventure to continue the story of our characters, or if they want to continue working with WotC once BG3 is finished.
There are a lot of factors to consider.
DoS 3 or some other CRPG would be cool though, even just adding DLC content to BG3 would be enough to keep me content, though I know Larian doesn't have a track record for that kind of thing.
I'm hoping for both myself - there are definitely advantages for Larian making at least some games in their own property with a bit more rules freedom.
Eh, I dunno. The trailer I saw just looked like Xcom with a divinity skin. That kind of gameplay isn't what got me into Divinity.
They have expanded a lot over the course of this project. It's entirely possible they might start juggling multiple things at once. Have a team work on content for BG3 and another team work on something else, kinda like what Owlcat's doing with RT?
On another note, Age of Wonders 4 comes out next month.
Eh. Let's be real. If they make a DoS: 3 and reference DoS: 2 at all, the cannon ending will probably be the "side with Lucien" ending, since that's the only one that actually has a firm opinion on what happened to the world and kinda seemed like the ending Larian wanted you to take.
Yeah, that was pretty weak, I didn't really like it. But hey. The journey was good.
And in MY ending, my character absorbed all the Source he could get his claws on, ascended to godhood, and assisted the Red Prince in restoring the lizards' glorious dragon empire. Any fears about the world rising up in rebellion against them never came to pass, because the lizards had the full support of the new god behind them.
If humanity or anyone else tried to stop the lizards' expansionist campaign, they were obliterated!
