What dya'll think? Will we get Divinity Original Sin 3 after this game? Or will they work on BG4?

For myself, BG3 is for all practical purposes, DOS3. If BG3 is successful ( I think it will be ) then more than likely, we will see BG4.

Depends on how this game goes, if they do any supplementary DLC like a higher level adventure to continue the story of our characters, or if they want to continue working with WotC once BG3 is finished.

There are a lot of factors to consider.
My fingers are crossed for a Moonshae Isles adventure.

I dunno. Honestly I wasn't super hyped for the game they were prepping to make before BG3 came along. If they turn back to that I'll probably tune out.

DoS 3 or some other CRPG would be cool though, even just adding DLC content to BG3 would be enough to keep me content, though I know Larian doesn't have a track record for that kind of thing.

I was bummed when they stopped development on Fallen Heroes. Shifting the focus more towards combat is exactly what I'm looking for.

I hope so, i'm very much looking forward to seeing DOS3 in the same immersive way as Baldur's Gate 3, with the cinematic dialogue and interactions and nice camera angles.

There are definitely some Divinity fans that'd be sad if they never made DOS 3.

I'm hoping for both myself - there are definitely advantages for Larian making at least some games in their own property with a bit more rules freedom.

Eh, I dunno. The trailer I saw just looked like Xcom with a divinity skin. That kind of gameplay isn't what got me into Divinity.

Its interesting to see what Larian's next path will be, will they continue to focus on a single game path, or branch out to development of multiple games at the same time. I would imagine DoS3 being the next project, regardless. Unless.. something totally different?

They have expanded a lot over the course of this project. It's entirely possible they might start juggling multiple things at once. Have a team work on content for BG3 and another team work on something else, kinda like what Owlcat's doing with RT?

Yes, absolutely.

I don't like the idea of a DoS: 3 sequel, because I feel like it would ruin DoS: 2 for me. The second game pretty much flat out told the players to make up their own ending, instead of giving them a definitive answer. So if you add a 3rd game to the story, and it doesn't fall in line with your headcanon, it will make the entire DoS: 2 experience seem like a waste of time and energy.

On another note, Age of Wonders 4 comes out next month.

Each Divinity game has been pretty unrelated or a wild retcon, so I wouldn't worry about that. DOS 1 and 2 are basically as related in plot as two Final Fantasy games.

Eh. Let's be real. If they make a DoS: 3 and reference DoS: 2 at all, the cannon ending will probably be the "side with Lucien" ending, since that's the only one that actually has a firm opinion on what happened to the world and kinda seemed like the ending Larian wanted you to take.

Yeah, that was pretty weak, I didn't really like it. But hey. The journey was good.

And in MY ending, my character absorbed all the Source he could get his claws on, ascended to godhood, and assisted the Red Prince in restoring the lizards' glorious dragon empire. Any fears about the world rising up in rebellion against them never came to pass, because the lizards had the full support of the new god behind them.

If humanity or anyone else tried to stop the lizards' expansionist campaign, they were obliterated!
