But in this, every major story event is "Do you wanna bang or nah?" from every character, at the same time. I don't like that they break character so the game can be like "Welp, we completed a quest... time to pick who you're having sex with".
Also, as a straight dude, I always appreciate the variety. I would be more upset if they didn't have gay options. Good story-telling doesn't give a ♥♥♥♥ about IRL social norms, especially with a fictional universe like this. I just don't like the pacing with the romance.
Obviously in the real world, women have to face constantly getting sexually harrassed, but I don't think that excuses lazy writing in that area. I mean look at Dragon Age or Mass Effect, there were always gay options, but every romance option was a path to be explored not an achievement.
On the political side of the argument though, obviously if men were constantly hit on they wouldn't be happy about it either. No one likes to be harassed, but because men are rarely hit on, people act like a man would enjoy it the harassment because they're a man. Harassment is harassment. It's just a sad fact that women and men face polar opposite problems with these situations.
I particularly enjoyed the guy who copped to lusting after his friend's wife and the guy using the associative property to propose a claim that the OP wants men to experience rape.
You have those that are in a relationship or married, or are religious even, for example. If you were in a relationship or married yourself, you might find your partner suddenly being attracted to pixels to be an insult to you and the love you feel for him or her. Of course not having to deal with anything romance related is prefered in these cases. Me and my wife belong to this group. Playing games together for fun. Being hit on so often is a problem for both of us.
Then there is people regardless of wether or not they have a RL partner, who just don't like a DnD game turning into a dating sim. Yes, its easy to avoid. But again, its just as easy to pick the wrong dialogue. Some options really are disguised flirt options.
I assume the majority of players actually use this games' romance for self-love. You know, the biological sort of self-love, not the bible kind. Thus many others simply get offended by the idea of removing it or having a toggle. Trolling, making fun of others, or even insulting. Its the delusional kind, the naive sort of people, lonely men and women and everything in between, who fail to think of others out of pure pixel fetish, selfishness or proud.
You mentioned you are a woman. Then you said "Many men are open to casual sex, why not take their shot?". And you wonder why you fail to understand men? Or why there is no women complaining on the internet? Well, one answer could be the friend invites you will get for saying the sentence above, while women actually try to not attract that sort of men you are talking about. Then, some women know how to show respect towards their partner. And last but not least, its not even a gender thing to begin with.
Yeah in my co-op I fig I let my female drow get off on astarion and all of a sudden afterwards Shadowheart takes a hit on me lmao. This is even more ironic considering if you do the goblin raid, she actually says she doesn't want to be "Minthara's lefteovers". But somehow it's ok to be Astarions leftovers lol... It honestly feels very inconsistant and weird.
Because it's patently obvious, as obvious as the sun rising from the east. People today will say whatever gives them virtue points so it's irrelevant what women "told you". Deep down we all know what i'm saying is true. We've all see it happen hundreds of time before our eyes.
It's also a matter of personal experience. All the women i had a relation with never hit on me first, i was the one to approached them.
You never know maybe if men could experience rape and how devastating is for your life they would stop raping woman or at least plan to have much much more jail time for it. It could not be such a bad idea. But I guess is easier to say “You woman get raped shut the ♥♥♥♥ up don't expect us to be in your shoes!” “Do you really want us to suffer as you do? Wtf! That's aweful you are a terrible person. What a ♥♥♥♥♥♥!
