Do NOT Seek Purification!!
Alright, I understand some of you may consider this to be spoilers, but I don't care, because this is a very significant problem that everyone needs to be aware of.

When going to the Githyanki Cresche, do NOT seek out the purification device. Submitting yourself to it will inflict a massive debuff to your character in the form of a -2 on their Constitution, Intelligence and Wisdom scores.

As far as I can tell, these debuffs seem to be permanent, because they are not going away with a long rest, and Lesser Restoration can not alleviate them.

I did not notice this on my first playthrough, but I sure as hell did on my second one. Now Lae'zel is walking around with a huge nerf, and I don't know how to fix it.

Pretty sure I killed her. My journal even said she was a corpse, and became dust on the wind.

Because you seem to be unaware of this, you can respec your party members to whatever class/stats you want. You wanna make Gale your fighter to replace the one that you tossed in the trash? You totally can. And it totally works.

With the exception of Shadowheart (who desperately needs a new domain), I don't feel comfortable respecing the Origins into different classes. I know it doesn't affect their stories, but it still feels wrong from an RP perspective.

no the journal entry is "hypothetical", its a bit confusing but its basically "damn it would be nice if she was a corpse"
i had the exact same scenario, dont worry
to get around this you MUST kill the guy who came to kidnap her first, and kill her afterward, OR dont kill your lover and wait until the end of act 2, you will kill her in combat and it counts

YOU CAN FIX IT.
consuming just one parasite with her removes the debuff. the doctor/scientist that runs the machine will lock you in the room. if you read the debuff on Laezel, it says perhaps consuming some tadpoles will restore her mind. once you consume one., the doctor bursts in with guards.

That must be new, since I'm fairly certain it wasn't in before.

in chemistry; purification does not necessarily mean removal of a contaminant; but an enhancement of that which is already there.

Use on yourself then remove curse

use the purification for yourself, leazel will insist on using but with good relation she could be talked to stand down and then suceed the saving throw (intelligence), the third saving throw will use the purification device power to empower yours and you get a feat, just like with omiluum

I got it even by letting her stay in the machine. Which was a surprise.

You're not required to go there at all. You are ONLY required to go there if you want Laezel to travel with you. Although you might want to regardless as there are some major plot points in Laezel's questline that I think you will miss otherwise.

You are not required to go there full stop. You can keep Lae'zel with a speech check even if you never go there. Her character development changes as a result.

Me too. I also noticed that always I would get nat 20 after spending three inspiration points on that specific Last check. After getting the buff, I reloaded older savegames several times, even after restarting the game. I always got nat 20 after the third try.

I wonder if that happened to you and other players who followed that path, too.

Purification is a buff if you pass everything

I didn't pay close attention. I'll try to next time I do that scene.
