pay more attention to what you're doing instead of blindly doing idiotic decisions.
But giving you a permanent debuff based on a choice? that's fine *if they also give you a way to remove said debuff* rather than making said character permanently useless for the entire game. Objectively bad design if there is no way to remove it.
Also you trusted a Githyanki contraption to NOT hurt you.
I went into this trap and got -2 CON, INT and WIS, for a cleric.
It's fine, nothing is too broken.
