I wouldn't care if it wasn't for the fact that it will automatically enable mods causing my game achievements to lock me out of my vanilla play-trough
Do you have a save game that has mods enabled?
cant say ive had this issue myself. perhaps start a clean profile with no mods associated with it. that way even if the mods update, it wont be your mod loadout so it wont matter.

nope erased them all and did a fresh install for patch 8 as of right now I can't play vanilla bg3 it just keep forcefully enabling mods in my play-through 5 times now i've restarted my game because of the achievements being locked out

i did even unsubscribe to them the moment i re open the game it installs all the mods and enable them for my current save
close steam and open this path
You can rename the folder then launch steam and try again.
"c:\users\%username%\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3"

I think about this, any time someone acts smug "The cheevo stats clearly show hardly anyone has even beaten even the tutorial after buying it!" in any game that supposedly supports the modding community.

I'm still planning to wait at least a week in case of a week 1 hotfix, but I get the feeling my "No mods ever, just opened the toolkit to see what the fuss was about. Now launcher always declares something naughty about my files and I'm too exhausted to fix a non-issue" will remain the same.

Step 1: Install ScriptExtender
Step 2: set EnableAchievements to true in the config json
Step 3: never worry about this again.

Unsubscribe the mods, this will remove them. Then log out of the Mod Manager, this will stop all future download of mods with your Mod.Io account not connected.

So I figured out why the mod keeps downloading despite being Unsubscribed from; it is marked as a dependency on a different mod you have installed. So long as any other mod you have references another as something it depends on, the manager will keep re-downloading it.
