For me the choice is obvious... take bg3
If you prefer ARPGs I'd go with POE2. I like both Tactics games and ARPGs but I tend to enjoy Tactics games more so my bias does lean towards BG3 especially considering its one of if not the best Tactics game out there.
Take BG3
You want a solid RPG with a good story, and pretty well done turn-based combat? BG3
Both games are fun, just in different ways. I'd go for BG3 only because POE2 is going to be free to play in a year or so.
Really different kinds of games, so in the end it's just a matter of personal tastes.
Anyway, your choice depends on your preferences, action vs turn based game with well written stories\characters.
If you don't have a OP build, all boss fights are more of the chip way types. It's bad when say you take two big hits, you just quit the fight. Because you don't want to fight 9 minutes of that 10 minute fight only to run out of health flasks, which you might do because of those early mistakes.
