Spore Druid or Necromancer probably have the highest chance due to summon.
Going for straight combat maybe Paladin or Berseker throwing build or even swords bard? Something with high enough damage to clear a lot.
I understand with insane prep every encounter you can do gloomstalker assassin but always needing explosive barrels or invisibility potions isnt a play style for me and I dont like dead after turn 1 builds. However late game arrow of many shots will clear act 3 for you.
Post patch 8
Hexblade should be a candidate thanks to heavily front loaded and spectres, death cleric double cast on cantrips, ignoring necrotic resistance and shadow sorcerer thanks to dogs.
Death Cleric into necromancer will probably get a nice boost.
You should talk your way away from most of the fights and bard 10 can help you with that.
I did about half the things in Act 3 but kinda just lost track and started to play other things. I think I had just killed Gortash and was on my way to fight Orin when I lost interest.
Honestly the game is infinitely exploitable I bet a solo wizard could 4D chess the game.
If you are not an abuser - bard/paladin, also a padlock. (padlock is a little bit better in terms of combat cause darkness -> no magic stun)
Races;
-Orc; inherent Death Ward, Martial based passives & Darkvision
-Githyanki; Astral Knowledge give proficiency in all lacking skills, Martial passives & Proficiency in Constitution(rare trait)
-Druegar; broken invisibility "cantrip" & Darkvision
-Wood Half Elf; +3M of movement &...you guessed it..Darkvision
-Tiefling; sub races gives useful passives regardless of choice & Darkvision
-Drow Half Elf; useful passives & the ever useful Darkvision
-Anything but Gnome usually
Classes:
-Champion/Battle Master Fighter; Action Surge ability & choosing Fighting Style from either subclass & stackable critical hit requirement reduced by 1(from 20 to 19)/any BM Manoeuvres
-Gloom Stalker Ranger; Extra first attack, Hunter's Mark, inherent Darkvision & useful utility level 1 & 2 spells including VERY useful Speak With Animals ritual spell
-Assassin/Thief Rogue; Extra damage to Surprised & full health enemies, regain all Actions& bonus actions at the beginning of combat/Extra Bonus Action & Falling damage reduced to half
-College of Swords; Proficient in multiple dialogue skills, multiple battle skills, Bardic Inspiration & Bardic Restoration(extra Short Rest)
as levels 3/3/3/3 split.
Feats:
-Alert;+5 to Initiative & can't be surprised
-Skilled/Tough/War Caster/Resilient (Constitution); cover anything lacking as a solo player/alot of extra HP/Advantage on Concentration checks/Proficiency in Constitution(rare trait)
-Ability Improvement to prevent odd numbers
-Sharpshooter/Savage Attacker
Solo run custom Tav/origins Astarian, Laezel, Shadowheart & Wyll all used the above & were 10/10.
4 assassin
6 gloomstalker
2 fighter
there are countless variants of this build, pick your favorite
The devil is in the details tho, you need the correct gear as early as possible, and all the buffs for as long as possible, this is where game knowledge comes into play.
Nether one of those two is cheating. They are methods the game by design, allows the smart players to do and use.
But of course if using anything in the game bothers you, then you shouldn't do it. But your standards and restrictions in the game, is "yours".
For now 2/10 warlock bard is a good pick, since you get 2 expertises that way, but anything bard/rogue that gives you access to at least 1 expertises and is charisma based can go.
If you really think that hide abuse is a something smart I won't argue with you, low should stay low i guess, I'm a bit curious what will you say a mods, since they also a part of the game from latest patch xD.
