How to ascend Astarion? (SPOILERS DUH)

Because just beating Cazador is not enough. What are the other conditions?

Before you go through the prison where the spawn are kept, there is a room with a skull holding a scroll in its jaws. That scroll contains the ritual needed to perform the ascension. You might need to actually READ the scroll to unlock the option.

Alternatively, I think reading the Necromancy of Thay book, or killing Yurgirs for Rapaehl during Act 2 will also help trigger it.

Don't forget to check Cazador's coffin after the fight is over, since he retreats into it once his HP is depleted.

Finally, make sure none of the spawn were killed during the fight, as the ritual requires all of them to be sacrificed in order to perform the ascension. Cazador himself gets furious with you during the fight, if you start killing the spawn before he can complete the ritual.

I´ve heard you don´t need to not kill the spawns.
