So why is Shadowheart never impressed?
I'm gonna try to keep spoilers to a minimum but....

there is a war that begins due to an attack from a certain True Soul drow.

Now when I choose to sound the horn I'm asked by the drow to open the gate and slice a guy's neck or disobey her and help the guy and his allies.

Why the heck does Shadowheart disapprove of both my choices? Is she that difficult to please?

She considers everything to be a waste of time that doesn't revolve around removing the tadpole.

What Lax said and also: None of the 'companions' really approve of you siding with the Goblins. Additionally, if you chose to betray Minthara by not blowing the horn, she views that as another 'trust issue' she has with you.

She doesn’t have all of her memories because they were erased for her ‘special Shar mission’. I don’t blame the poor girl for being suspicious.

There are easy to identify things that help you gain approval with Shadowheart. She's not a strictly "good guy" character, nor is she an "evil guy" character. Also siding with the Goblins is a great way to make her not super happy. Best not to do that.

funny thing is she always likes me. She and Astarion..its funny. What i found out she is totally not into that hero stuff. But helping people ..well discreetly gets her approval most of the times.

On another note OP its a fun thing and a bit of a spoiler. If you don't recruit her she pesters you till you recruit her or kill her. I told her to go hang. She attacked me. I run her through with my sword. Made my day.

I didn't really have a problem getting to high approval with her. Once you do, even at medium sometimes, it is like she becomes a very different person.

You really had to call them that racial slur, didn't you. Sad.

I believe the moment at camp you are mentioning is the moment she doesn't feel like she's fully in control of herself. I believe the idea was the tadpole was forcing her to the camp so that she joined the group with the rest of us, as it would seem there is a much bigger game at play than just turning us into mind flayers. Once she wakes up at camp if you don't kill her she says she feels perfectly in control and fine afterwards, unlike the night before when you were talking to her.

This is the reason I'm convinced everyone that whines about Shadowheart has never managed to get around some of her defenses and realize who she is, who she supports as a cleric, and the like. If they did, they'd realize they are only crying about things that are mostly skin deep.
Granted, Shadowheart in EA isn't going to tell you bedtime stories and tuck you in at night, but there is more to her than many give her credit for.

SH is not in control of herself as a whole. She has had her memories 'locked' not erased, per her own want, to be able to successfully carry out her mission. HER OWN WANT, not Shar's, which eludes to her possibly being either more intelligent (about what she is to acquire and deliver and its capabilities) or what she is as a Cleric of Shar, and what her Patron whom 'saved her' requires.

I made a new play with a Selune Cleric Drow Female. Yes, its a bit of a contradiction, but I really enjoy breaking barriers and pressing forward. I am thankful that Larian chose to ignore our sunlight disposition, because that would make Drow on the surface pretty pointless to play.

You realize there are two different kinds of Drow right? the "evil" ones and the ones that fight the "evil" ones. Quotations are simply there to emphasis which ones I'm talking about.

As for the shadowheart stuff, maybe put that in spoiler tag next time, some people clearly have not gotten to this aspect of the character yet. But I am a spoiler fuss ♥♥♥♥ so don't mind me as I say that. Also...
All of those things you are stating about Shadowheart are all guess work at this point. There are some things you can point to that might give it credit, but until we have more story to work with we don't have enough information to say one way or the other. My guess would be she likely wasn't always a Shar cleric and was taken to be used by Shar, but I don't have enough evidence to prove that theory based on what information we have to us in EA, so I can't say that with certainty yet.

Well, depends on how you see it. My view is: We all have problems and I won’t put up with your* ♥♥♥♥ on the off chance that somewhere deep inside you’re nice. If you act like an ass I will assume you are an ass and bid you farewell and good riddance.

Goes double for pixel characters. They can shove their attitude problems where Selune don’t shine.

Btw, thanks for the info on what happens the next day at camp.

Also to clarify: I’m not whining about her. I was very happy killing her. Top gaming moment! Can’t wait to kill her again next playthrough 😵😈

*your / you used in a generic way :)
