Well not to any roll cos you can't increese spell Dc but most rolls yeah so it's still too good and it becomes broken Op if you can rest unlimited times like you can in BG 3...
I understand what you are saying, but at the same time try rolling for three 18s, see how it goes.
Not the brightest bulb in the box.
Trying to res your dead thread? KEK
and doing it with an insult very distasteful.
DnD dropped that dice rolling for stats back in third edition.

{good Cha caster - Sorcerer, Paladin, Bard, Warlock - even a little boost to Con}

{somewhat strong character, but not OP - good for multiclassing - could be fighter, or any martial due to the Str, could be a multi Cleric or Druid that doesn't rely on high Wis attack rolls, could be a Dex based class (get feat later for +1) or Cha based class (feat or ASI later to increase), slightly better saves across the board, but not OP}
Results for rolling 1d10 +1 (9's and 10's just count as "10") +8, rolled in order, no rearranging:

{This is the most 1's I've ever rolled for a character - and, as you can see, it still doesn't result in a dump character. This is a Wizard or Artificer with a tiny bump to their concentration saves. That 18 in Int really saves them from being trash}

{Weirdly, this one ended up similar to the first, except with better Dex (for AC!), a little bit stronger (better carrying capacity), and a small bonus to Cha saving throws - I'm going to do one more test since this one ended up so similar to Test 1}

{This is probably my luckiest roll...obviously, could go any Dex based class like Rogue or Ranger or Monk, or Wisdom or Charisma based class...also would obviously be a good multiclass character in any of those, the high Dex is great for bonus AC should I choose to go with any of the other 18's as my main stat...this is probably the most 'powerful' of the four rolls here, and maybe slightly "OP" - I would probably end up going Monk because of the high Dex and Wis, and maybe multiclass into something else as well, perhaps Sorcerer or Warlock}
Player's handbook 5E chapter 3:
"You generate your character’s six ability scores randomly. Roll four 6-sided dice and record the total of the highest three dice on a piece of scratch paper."...
Rolling for stats is how most players calculate there characters stats. Which will be in the game at launch.
Directly setting your characters stats is also a very good option that should be included because players may choose to roll stats outside of the game or want to bring in a character that they played previously and thus want to bring in the stats from those characters.
