Party limit begone mod
"Party Limit Begone" is a mod that allows to play with more than 4 party members. Its probably the first I will try now that BG3 have mod support. For those who already play with it, how was your experience?

It makes the game very easy. But if you don't care about that, it's pretty convenient. You don't need to swap character every time you need them in a quest or something. It has been a while since I used it so this could've already been fixed, but if you bring more than 4 characters to certain moments in the game where it's scripted to show only 4 characters it could get a bit glitchy. To prevent that you can just send your companions back before the scene (for me it happened in the cutscene where you get on the boat in the underdark. )

Mind the usual game breaking blocker.

Then you have an unbalanced easy game where even the highest difficulty is not enough to counter.

This game is already fairly easy with 4 party members when you pick the right ones, I wouldn't even try!

There is a mod called "Teleport Party To You Spell" in tandem with Party Limit Begone. It helps you in those cases where the game only transfers 4 party members somewhere in a cutscene.

If you run into issues where excess party members are locked in a conversation, i suggest you reload prior to starting the cutscene and ungrouping some of the party members and standing them some ways away (this prevents them from joining the cutscene) and then use the teleport party spell to bring them back to you on the other side

Use it sparingly - its pretty powerful if you use it cheat-y

Other than that - Yeah, it makes most of the encounters trivial since alot of the difficulty comes from the so-called "action point economy".

3-4 extra members in a fight is beyond powerful

I just want a 5th player. There are times when 2 Tanks would be REALLY nice. Lae'zel and Karlach would fit the bill nicely.

Video Game Players: "We want bigger party cap. Four party members is way too small!"

Tabletop Players: "Running a campaign for six people is not good for our health."

It make the game really easy. I installed it because I wanted to hear all the banters.

If you've never played the game before, don't use it. I did on my first run, and it felt overpowering, so I started over without it. The game is balanced for a four-member party. I'm a long way from a power gamer, and I thought it made things too easy. In fact, for your first play thru, I recommend not even picking up all the companions.

Well, yeah, because when you run a campaign for six players, you have to coordinate six people's schedules and you have to make sure nobody feels left out or overlooked. Not the same thing as playing a game with one player character and five party members.

The mod stopped working after Karlach temporarily left the group to think about her life in Act 3. Any one have any ideas how to fix this? Neither me nor my MP partner can pick up new characters past the 4 player limit again. Seems like the mod just stopped working.
I think 6 is the good number. You have enough variety that having specialists/skillmonkeys on the team feels good rather than terrible. You also get SO much more party banter.

The only downside is that the boat in Underdark will softlock your game if you have more than 4 at the time you click it, so make sure to dismiss extras first.

I like to give enemies an additional 100% health to compensate. Means everyone still has to do stuff in fights, and makes up for all the extra synergies/CC you'll get access to.

There are a few versions where you can increase your party in size. It's particularly useful late game when you need so many different people for different quest lines. I generally keep it at 6 but you can take up to 9 without running out of room of things getting too ridiculous.

It does make the game easier which is another bonus if that is an issue you are having.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
