Honour Mode Modded Patch 7
Hypothetically if i were to do an honour mode run but with only cosmetic mods that make my character more pretty and stuff would that compromise me getting achivements and the honour mode dice?

yes. To be fair, the system wouldn't know what mod you're using. You could be using one of those "God Mode" type of gear or weapon, the system would'nt know. And IMHO, if a player is doing a Honour Mode run, Mods should be disabled automatically but I guess disabling the achievements was easier.

it shouldn't disable achievements tbh, most people just use cosmetic or quality of life mods, if someone wants t use godmods just to get the dice who cares

It's not Larian, it's Steam.

Steam's policy is to not allowed achievements on modded games.

Personally I don't care about achievements at all, but that does kinda defeat the purpose of it being an achievement. If you can't detect the type of mod, a blanket seems the best option.

In saying that though, it's possible to enable achievements with mods or even cheat them in.

I use nexus mods oonly. the in game mods kinda suck tbh

I use only clothing and armor mods, a transmog mod and remove partial illithid mod

I have over 31 achievements modded and got my gold dice

not sure what the problem is?

You're likely using a mod that has reactivated the ability to get achievements. It's not complicated to do.

As I said, it's not BG3 or Larian turning off achievements, it's Steam by it's policy forcing it.

It's not steam, or other games would not be able to allow achievements on modded runs.

Wait, you don't get achievements for modded Honour?

Well, screw this Honour Run, then. Guess I'll restart!

A bit of blatant misinformation lol.
My QoL mods were all active while I got the Achievement for beating 'Darkest Dungeon' on the standard difficulty.

I'll apologise if I'm wrong, but I really don't think that's the case.

You are not wrong, you can add: Cyberpunk 2077, Suviving Mars, Battletech (the HBS one) and X-com 2 to the list of games where you can mod them and get achievements. If it was a Steam policy then there would not be any, especially something as well known as cyberpunk.

Edit: That list of games was just off the top of my head so I'm sure if I looked harder I could find more.

Thank you for clarifying, NorthernDavid.
