Over 400hrs and I just completed my 1st playthrough lol.

I love this game. So many of the characters are so compellingly real. Many hrs were during the pre-release, but yeah, I love making characters and trying classes. Paladin btw is sooo op imo.

So I was wondering, how many hrs do others have when completeing the game?
How many hrs do you have if you're still playing without finishing yet?

Lastly, Larian, this game is as close to perfection as you can get.
P.S. Yes, act 3 does have a few issues visually, feels a little unpolished, but it's better than the majority of other games.

Is it really your "first" playthrough if you're constantly restarting the game? Canonically speaking, your first character likely wandered off into the wilderness and died.

To answer your question, my first run was 90 hours. My current time is 800 hours. Halfway through my first "true" Honour Mode run.

Yes, I've played over 100hrs prior to full release. I restarted the game a few times after major patches. Yes, I'll start an Honour run as well.

Also, I really liked act 2, but I was never happy with how few people I saved. So I'd just restart and build a better character lol.

1200 total hours playing this game since 2021 with multiple characters including multiplayer. I'm in Act 3 for my main character. Maybe 20 more hours and I'll have this specific run done. I do a lot of sightseeing.

Depends on what you mean by "finish". I "finished" the game quite soon after I started playing it (have no idea how many hours) by detonating the orb in Act 2. That's not an ideal ending, of course.

I never quite got around to doing the final battle with the Brain for more than a year after I started playing the game. I got to Act 3 many times, but every time after hitting level 12, I felt the need to try a new character.

This is not at all the only game I have gotten very close to the end of and then not finished. Like, for example, in Horizon Zero Dawn I got to the very final boss battle and then just stopped playing. Like maybe I didn't want the game to be over, you know?

Anyway, I don't know how many hours I had before I finally overcame that resistance and defeated the Brain. at least 1000, I think. Steam currently says I have 1300+ hours.

ps. I retired in 2022, so I have lots of free time to play games.

I don't see that as overly excessive time if you treat the game as a life-sim type thing. Careful about everything and managing inventory can eat a ton of time. Congrats to you. You seem to gotten the best the game can offer, although, even with your 400 hours I'd be willing to bet there are things you missed. If you decide to play it again I guaranty you will find things you missed.

For me I'm at 948 hours on a single run. For me the question is, will BG3 become in the top 3 game where I spent the most time to play? The first two are out of reach and because I saw the brain yesterday, chances to become the 3rd are slim.

Act 3 is both the largest and the smallest act, depending on how fast you find the Infinity Stones needed to complete the story, so that's mostly up to you.

But I'm already in the Upper City and when I saw the brain decided to go to the sewer before smashing this bastard. I'm not expecting a long battle with my monk/bard (9/3), Lae'zel, Karlash and Shadowheart.

540 Hours with multiple playthroughs, I'd say roughly 80 hours each & only one honor mode run. I only watch cutscenes if they are new to me on a character/playthrough I haven't done yet.

Oddly I haven't completed a Dark Urge run yet. I'll likely do that for my solo run attempt.

My accumulated playtime as of the time of writing this post is 2,366.8 hours.

But then again, I was playing Early Access since day one, so 3 years worth of that play time is due to that.
