For no other reason, that the character Astarion is too dumb to remain unliving.
Wonderfully voiced, don’t get me wrong, but in a party with:
1) a child soldier of a xenophobic race, still ready to work together for common goals
2) a brainwashed cultist of the goddess of secrets, ready to spill the beans and work for common goals
3) a warlock who is ready to say no to his patron, to uphold his vision of heroism and work for common goals
4) a veteran of the blood wars, who is about to die, but still prefer to work for common goals and collective freedom
5) and Gale, who at least can take constructive criticism to heart and learn from his past mistakes…
We’ve also Astarion, who is ready to drink from and kill the very same people who are responsible for his survival and freedom for the first time in 200 years.
Astarion who, while being less bright than Scratch, demands to steer the party’s course to suit his idiotic tantrums. The same Astarion who is ready to sell the party’s souls to the most Disney villain ever appeared in non-Disney media, just for some information about a scar on his back.
Astarion, do you understand that the same compassion you so vocally disparage, is the ONLY reason why you still breath, among other things?
AND WHO, once he is caught in the act, has also the gall to say...
“It’s not what it looks like.”
Sorry Astarion, you can fail an intelligence check only if you have any.
I suppose at least we know for certain Cazador likes them pretty and pretty stupid.
1: Astarion is checking if Cazador's orders still apply. "Thou shalt not drink the blood of thinking creatures".
2: He geniuenly just fails a Stealth check against you. If you play him you can succeed and nobody will realize you're the one who bit them, except for Gale.
My inner spore druid would like to remind Cazador, that even squirrels and rats think.
How do you call on the tabletop, when something is so dumb it is opening a hole in your reality?
Regardless, Astarion, and his fake Saturday morning cartoon villain moustache, is just so dumb to play with, I’ve zero incentives to play as.
Where's the homophobia?
i hate him enough to always play the thief for the group
he's the biggest complainer and whiner of the group, and it's unavoidable once he's in
now i know to just kill him on the beach - "it's the only way to be sure (-Ripley)"
If you romance him, you can eventually get him to turn you. But you only become a Spawn, not a full vampire like him.
Was really disappointed with that.
This is correct, you become a True Vampire. He doesn't have control over you and claims he wouldn't want to anyway.
