Rejected by Astarion in Act 1. Will there be more opportunties?
If so, how? I struggled to get his approval up during Act 1 because I didn't get many scenes to influence him, due to it being a multiplayer game. When will the romance cutoff come around?

40 approval and knowing he's a vampire will have him proposition outside the goblin camp afterparty. No exclamation mark usually, so you have to try talking to him.

20 approval at the goblin camp afterparty and he'll be willing to jump in the sack regardless of whether or not you know he's a vampire.

For multiplayer, your best bet would have been you being the one to trigger the bite scene with as choosing all the right approval options would easily put you close to 20 if not 20 itself.

As it stands, without him in the active party, you are unlikely to romance him otherwise even if Act 2 allowed it. Maybe if you triggered all his cutscenes yourself at camp and chose all the good approval options, you may have hit that point if you save the goblin camp afterparty for last. Haven't done the math for that though.

So that's another big problem. We don't know that he's a vampire yet since the scene never triggered. Am I just screwed out of a romance then? My two buddies are allowing me to keep him in our party as our fourth character so that shouldn't be an issue.

Astarion will eventually tell you he is a vampire if the bite scene doesn’t trigger. The only downside to this is you miss out on the large approval jump letting him feed on you brings. I don’t rest very often so it is about 50-50 for the bite scene to trigger before he just tells me he is a vampire. The other downside for Astarion is he rarely likes my actions in game so he always lags behind my approval from other party members.

I am a man and I don’t romance male characters so it doesn’t really matter to me.

anytime you long rest and get a cutscene, spam long rests (dont use food just do a partial rest so it doesnt consume anything, also partial rest wont make you have low spells slots or HP if you just long rested so dont worry about it) until cutscenes dont play, if you play in a way where you dont *have* to long rest quite often (like i did when i first played the game) and only long rest when you *really* need to, then you are probably going to miss out on cutscenes, fail to properly move along character romances/stories, etc. so, just partial long rest ALOT until you dont see any cutscenes anymore. getting the owlbear cub adds like 3 owlbear cutscenes that will replace other possibly important cutscenes, so spam long rests after you get owlbear to get those out of the queue
