Is there any reason not to play a tavern brawler monk?
There's so many ways to enhance your unarmed attacks that any other monk build just seems wholly underwhelming by comparison. You melt through HP bars like it's nothing. 4 Elements monks could be cool, but they're so dependent on Ki points that once they run out, they basically become wish.com open hand monks.

tavern brawler monk is VERY good! I'd use it

? does open hand abilities not use ki at all? Late game it pulls ahead, so I would swap to it at level 6 perhaps? Its also cheesing the game's str potion problem and str (and dex) buff itemization to drop str to get wis to feed the extra damage. It wouldn't be stronger in TT, where you would certainly not have an 18 dex gloves and a 20+ str and a 20+ wis score all at once at like level 8.

elements is just fine... fire snake is 1 ki point to get as many as 6 d4 (assuming 3 rogue) extra before haste or action surge or whatever flavor of cheese you are using.
it also has a restore 50% ki button, combined with an amulet that restores ki as well, found in act 1, ... whats the trouble? (of course anyone can use the amulet, so same as open hand there).

TB is OP, and its too easy to mix monk level 1 + str + TB with anyone to get extra attacks early game.

A dex monk should be not only viable but desirable, but TB feat makes it a poor choice.

open hand is better just because of wholesness of body. Idk why other monks dont get it

How about: After finishing the game you realize how easy it is, so you decide not to take TB (amongst other OP options) next time?

No.
Battle master fighter is up there as well, but yeah, the game has no balance to speak of. Stunning fist (and sneak attack) especially working on everything is very, very dumb, though it's actually 5e's own fault here.

A level 12 caster can do a "pew" once a day which can be easily saved against by anything worth using such spells on, meanwhile a level 12 martial can do the same amount of damage and then some every turn of combat.
For fun! And of course role playing reasons.

Because you feel like playing something else.

There will always be builds that are stronger than others. Your mentality will force you to always play whatever that is, and then complain about it. You are creating your own problems and then blaming them on others. It's time to grow up.

The game really isn't difficult enough for this kind of powergaming.

I never knew the joy of it until I found out about "Two Birds with One Gnome" and tried it.

+Hilarious in a game = +Enjoyment for me

Fighter and maybe Paladin are better at max level.

In the early levels where most classes suck, however, TB Monks are already god mode. If we're aggregating every level range TB Monk is the best class in the game.

I tried it, it's cheesy and preferred Dex way of the hand for my last run. The stuns are OP as-is.
Really all the Tav Brawler builds are broken as hell as not super fun IMHO.

Berserker is probably best ever implemented barbarian ever. You can do so much fun ♥♥♥♥, from throwing goblins around to throw million spears per turn. Very versatile and very fun

Dex isnt that bad, you get ok AC, but then again you can almost perma have elixirs of str. For the first time id actually prefer dex monk, damage catches up somewhat, TB monk just gets insane powerup at lvl 4

The only "downside" of open hand monk is that you cant really multiclass it into anything but thief. Either 5 for uncanny dodge ( i prefer this version ) or any other with lower thief levels

Tavern brawler + way of the open hand is insane. I find myself ending most encounters in 1 to 2 rounds
