Stuck at 5FPS
I recently purchased a used Acer Aspire VX 15. It has a GTX 1050TI, Intel I7-7700, and 16GB of RAM. I have version 546.65 for my driver, after rolling back from version 551.23. The problem i have been having with this game is that no matter what my settings are, i get a consisten 5FPS anytime my game is running. There is no change in FPS between menus, cutscenes, character creation, and gameplay. I'm inclined to believe that i have some form of software issue that is causing my game to be stuck at such a low FPS, but for the life of me I cannot figure out what's causing it. Any help would be much appreciated.

So my first question.
What is your Resolution set at? Resolution plays a big part in frame rates, especially in games that rely on 'Speed of Choice'.

System resolution is locked at 1920x1080

So you cannot change the resolution at all?
Additionally - 1920x1080 should be very fine...

I have never had much luck with Acer to be honest.
Which is why after that one try I always went back to Alienware.
I am not sure what the issue is. Resolution can be changed depending on the OS for the route.

Are you playing with DirectX or Vulkan? Try switching those.

Try using Display Driver Uninstaller then reinstalling the Nvidia Driver.

Try switching to a external Monitor and see if you got low fps on it.

Also make sure your Operating System is updated.

This may seem silly. But check if you maybe limited the fps in the Nvidia Control panel.

DirectX and Vulkan act the same.
DDU then reinstall has had no effect.
I don't have access to an external monitor, or a TV. I have read elsewhere that that might help, but i also want to use my laptop as i travel.
Operating System is up to date.

I've also discovered that this problem is not exclusive to BG3, and is affecting every game i have, if that helps narrow down the problem.

Limited to 5 FPS? That would be a first...

FIXED!
My PC wasn't using the GPU to render the games. I had to set my HIgh Performance graphics to be the integrated graphics card, then set BG3.exe to Let Windows decide. It's running at a constant 40fps

Check your power settings on the laptop.

Make sure it's actually using the 1050ti as the rendering device.

*Edit: dammit you ninja'd me! Glad you solved it yourself though.

Good to hear! Congrats.
Hopefully, this also fixed all your other games as well.
