Honor Difficulty Vs. Custom?
After level 4 or so, tactician difficulty starts to feel too easy, so I was hoping to try Honor Mode. However, I hate "one-failure-and-you-die" game modes. It says it lets you continue in custom mode after a team wipe, but nothing in the options for a custom game suggests you can give bosses "legendary abilities" or these "Stricter damage bonuses an action economy" things listed in Honor Mode. So does that mean a death in Honor Mode gets you booted back to essentially Tactician, since that's the max difficulty option for the sliders in Custom?

TL;DR - Does being booted down to Custom Mode after a wipe in Honor mean the mechanics change, since Honor has things that aren't options in Custom?

No idea but there's mods that give you all the Honour mode changes while playing in Tactician or lower.

There's also a mod that removes the one-save mechanic from Honour mode.

I'm abysmal with using mods -- could you link me to the one you're referring to? Hopefully I'll figure it out from there.

Death of all (4 current members) party in Honor = Game over OR continuing in tactician mode and NOT getting the dice.

Playing Honor with mods = no dice

But you can save and keep your saves "safe" in honor... With some work and trouble, of course. This might be particularly important to be safe against PC crashing amidst a save and corrupting the game save file (happened to me once in tactician, no big deal, but if it were honor... well... )

There is a mod that enables achievements if you're modding.
I've been using mods extensively and I get achievement pop-ups with this mod.

Cheers! That second one worked perfectly. Sadly I was halfway into Act 2 when I found out about this, so I'll have to take a lengthy break before coming back so I can have somewhat fresh eyes when I do it.
