how you plan on taking heavy armor prof on level 4? Lore bard has only light so you need to go through medium first
oh ok
How you gonna lift those big shields? (¬‿¬ )
Very good. Alternative would be Strength 14 and start with Fighter 1 and multiclass the rest into Bard for heavy armour proficiency and more weapons. The cost is the same while the result is worth more as you also get proficiency in CON saves which make your concentration spells safer.
You are incorrect, the beard is so magnificent that the armor has to clip thru the beard not the other way around! Dwarf up! Lol
Here is more food for thoughts: gold warves gives you +12 maximum hitpoints in total over the time reaching the level cap.
If the race looks selection is mostly the same, you are even better with Duergar, and you just change skin and hair colour to make them look like a gold dwarf. That way you get more useful race abilities.
That is, if you think it is important enough to pick race for such passives is worth it. I personally always recommend to pick the race you feel comfortable most, which you feel you can have fun to identify with, regardless of benefits.
Otherwise Wood Elf is easily superior for their extra movement in combat.
Food for thoughts ~
Also, the most op race is probably githyanki. 5-4 extra proficiency, it is insane.
