Multiplayer: Filters are Useless?

Alright, this is a problem which existed since back in EA, and seems like it continues to exist now months after release. It used to be rare, but over the last couple of days, I've seen it happen with more frequency.

People using cheat programs while playing BG3. I know for a fact these are cheats, because I have witnessed characters getting 12 attacks per turn at level 1 with no potions, gear or spell buffs. I have seen people become impervious to any attack thrown against them. I've seen games where every single skill check results in a nat 20. I've seen short rests be spontaneously replenished, while monks and spell casters get access to infinite Ki / Spell Slots. I've also seen people gain spontaneous levels way earlier than they should be, or suddenly come into possession of heaps of gold.


Why is this a problem? Well for one thing, there are two filters in multiplayer which are supposed to weed out games that are running different versions, or games which have modded content on them. Meaning that any game where these cheats are present have to be running them as an external program of some kind, most likely a trainer.

This effectively makes the multiplayer filter option useless, since it's not detecting cheaters and still allowing players to get matched up in games that are being modified with such programs.

I mean, I'd much rather have the current system over an intrusive anticheat that can still be bypassed, like for example Elden Ring chose to implement.

Oh, I forgot to mention I've also seen lobbies which have increased party caps. Anywhere from as low as 5 members, to as high as 8.
