Not to be rude or anything but... double standard?
Recently I saw a mod on nexus where a dude named Yedlike uploaded a mod named "Ser Aylin" where it turns Aylin from a woman to a man, and from what I can summarize from the mod's comments, some like it and "some" got very angry about it. Not even few days later his mod got removed and he got banned from nexus. My question is, why is his mod got a lot of heat while there are other similar mods, such as mods turning Astarion and Gale to a woman yet their responses is not as bad as the Aylin mod.

Wrong forums. Ask (at) Nexus mods. Steam has nothing to do with it and bringing that topic to Steam is almost like intentional flamebaiting. So best to keep that discussion where it belongs.

Yeah what else is new. Before a couple of years ago I did not know that hypocrisy could go to such heights. Or lows, actually. These people do not care about principles or fairness, they care about what they want.

Well nexus forum is basically dead since there are lot's of threads and there are so few replies. Sure steam has nothing to do with it, but the BG3 fandom/player are, thats why I am asking in a forum where a lot of fandom/player gather. I'm not so sure about this post is "intentional flamebaiting" tho, because there are similar post discussing about this "topic".

Like it's just a mod and it's for personal use. It's no harm to begin with when someone modding their own game. Also that kind of action does not paint a good image to that community tho, like sure they got their representation yet why they gonna hate people for modding their own game.

What did Nexusmods say in regards to why they removed the mod? Maybe you can find a statement and post it here to further the discussion.

Nexus has rules, and the author is known to be a malicious bad-faith actor whom has been breaking them and regularly goes on rants. Not the only mod of theirs to be removed.

Some examples: 'fixing' Wyll and his father by making them white, removing vitiligo for 'realism', changing a trans character into a man and their dialogue into hating themself etc.

Official Nexus response: *Edit to include full*
"This appears to be a throwaway account created to upload a mod that attempts to skirt our community guidelines. The mod in question appears to reduce diversity in Baldur's Gate 3 by taking a same-sex couple and swapping the gender of one of the partners to make them heterosexual.

We are for inclusivity, we are for diversity. If we think someone is uploading a mod on our site with the intent to deliberately be against inclusivity and/or diversity then we will take action against it. The same goes for people attempting to troll other users with mods deliberately to cause a rise.

We aren't the authority on what users can and cannot mod. Us removing a mod only means it cannot be found at Nexus Mods, nothing more, nothing less. As a private business, we have a right to choose what content we do and do not want to host on our platform. Respect this right the same way you want respect for your rights."

Nope, nada, there are none of the sorts. What I can gather is that the comment section of the mod is very heated, then the author of the mod turned off the comment section, next thing I know the mod got removed and the author got banned. He joined Nexus at 02 Dec 2023 and his last active was 04 Dec 2023. So I assumed that he got mass reported.

Ah I see. But the reason is " The mod in question appears to reduce diversity in Baldur's Gate 3 by taking a same-sex couple and swapping the gender of one of the partners to make them heterosexual."

If that is the reason why is the Gale and Astarion mod is okay tho. Like my tav is male and I modded Gale and Astarion into female, isn't that the same concept?

how is turning gale and astarion into female reducing diversity?
for aylin, she is in a predetermined lesbian relationship.
astarion and gale are not.

Hmm I see, if the author had history of rants, flaming, and baiting, etc, it is more understandable.

Sort-of? The character in question is part of a lesbian couple, while the companions are all player-sexual anyway. Think more so it was the (known) intent of the author.

Fascinating. A quick google search yielded a link to their statement within the top 3 results. That you would not commit to even this minimal level of investigation suggests you are not actually interested in understanding this issue and simply wish to push your messaging.

I'll leave you to your thread.
