Why is it dangerous for gaming culture and modding that modders are free to make their own mod sites instead of forcing their mods onto one site?
Amazing! Thanks for sharing. I was wondering where all these mods were.
By "woke" being dangerous to "gaming culture" he means "his little bigoted echo chamber". They're fighting tooth and nail against the growing reality that their world view is archaic and just wrong.
Their world view is wrong to you. Which is obviously subjective. The thing is they get to exist and are free within it just as you are.
Pretty sure he just means the danger to not being able to be free of feminist misandrists trying to label anyone who wants to play the game free of that bigoted judgement and their need to try and force someone to share their world view through bullying tactics using hypocrisy as one of the tools in their arsenal.
Otherwise you'd just let them do as they like considering it doesn't affect you whatsoever.
Don't understand the anger really. Why is that a threat to you?
What is true is that Nexus has every right to allow or remove whatever mods from their site as they see fit.
If ( Edit: Yes, I did the "there/their" thing. I think I'm a dumbass for it too ) their world view was just a matter of different opinions, that would be one thing. But their world view is actively harmful to people for no reason other than the fact they exist and don't conform to their world view.
And I'm not saying they don't get to exist. But that doesn't mean that we can't challenge their view. Freedom of speech is not freedom from criticism. That criticism is speech as well.
Challenging is fine. But it means they get to challenge you as well and so neither side of the debate should be surprised that the other is challenging them. As long as you yourself realize that freedom is not free from criticism then all is good.
What part of their world view is a danger exactly? Because if it goes back to this argument that removing a character or replacing them is removing the existence of identity or race or woman or man that's absolutely silly particularly since their modifications don't affect anyone else.
In the case of no alphabets, no one here is saying that if people choose to use it, that it erases queer people irl, but that using it is a clear indication of the users disposition towards queer people, which definitely does bleed into irl.
We're not surprised they're challenging back. We're also not the ones claiming our free speech is being denied when they do challenge us.
The part where they think it's okay to emotionally, psychologically, and even physically abuse us because of a part of us that literally does no harm to them or anyone else. No, I'm not being hyperbolic. The part where their treatment of LGBTQ and other minorities is a direct cause of the increased rates of depression, anxiety, and self harm rates among members of those minorities. The part where they think advocating for laws that force us to hide who we are or, in extreme cases, even outlaw our very existence ( Yes, there are literally people in the US calling for being LGBTQ to be a CAPITAL OFFENSE. They literally want the government to kill us for simply existing ).
Do I need to go on or do you have any other stupid questions?
It's funny how they talk about us supposedly making being LGBTQ our whole identity when they seem to make "owning their libs" their entire identity... ( Also they don't know that "libs" and "leftists" aren't the same thing )
Opposing bigotry isn't "political" no matter how you try to force it to be. It's called "being a civilized human being".
