Feats: +2 Primary, Alert, Spell Sniper.
Alert is nice as a damage dealer with a high initiative can thin out the battlefield quickly and nicely, reducing the overall stress on the rest of the party right from the start of the combat.
The elemental Feat is not bad. I just found not often good use for it. It is easier to switch between Fire/Ice spells at some point. In doubt: Ability Score Increase is often a choice which can hardly go wrong, as the points invested will be felt throughout the game regardless of combat.
Another tip which fits Wizards would be Resilient: Constitution - the proficiency in Con saves are helpful to maintain your Concentration on spells and it works also well with War Caster Feat either together or as substitute. But I like it more since it gives the extra Constitution point.
Also resilience is nice as +1 to your primary stat can bump you up to 18 or 20, and so you can use your hag's hair on someone else.
Good Luck
Have Fun! :)
If you are a sorcerer like a fire draconic or a storm sorcerer then getting that element to ignore resistance at level 8 is highly recommended. Scorching becomes a machine gun that melts everything but Im guessing for storm you can also use balloons/create water to add vulnerability.
Is lucky still bugged? Last time I did a run it was not working and did not want to risk it on honour mode
Your thoughts here are certainly valid for a player that knows how to effectively build and play their characters.
But for a brand new player, 'Alert' will provide more bang for the buck right off the line, in my opinion.
There's tons of elixirs with extremely valuable effects that the alert one just can't really compete with. Especially on martials at least, where you're basically always want hill/cloud giant, and for nuke casters, bloodlust.
Yes, indeed. Hill/Cloud Giant and Bloodlust. Would not waste an elixir for Alert type action when I can Feat it into place.
And don't forget, with Alert the party is never Surprised. :)
Alert is an Initiative booster. Anyone that does not have it will just be rolling regular D4 initiative plus whatever bonuses they have.
So if you want to be SURE your entire party goes first and is never Surprised, everyone needs to have 'Alert'. Try it out. If you don't think it is worth it, respec out of it. :)
You have NOTHING to lose to try it.
Good Luck
