Any way to permanently kill Astarion late game?
Is it possible to kill off Astarion permanently after his story quest is completed in late game?

That actually sounds like a very interesting option from a roleplaying perspective. Buyer's remorse vampire Spawn Tav opting to take the break-up option of staking him while saying something along the lines of how he's too evil and dangerous and not the man they fell in love with. Atleast we'll always have the option to kick him in the balls.

That being said, another method than the typical kill him via gameplay is to have Haarlep kill him instead. I played around cause I wanted to see what kind of unique options Astarion would have considering his past and I found that if you keep the main character far enough away or have him face Haarlep alone, you can just let Haarlep kill him and he won't be revivable and you don't get a game over for it.

I guess you can let him die and not resurrect him at camp

I don't condone any violence against my baroque best buddy! :angrystar2022:

...but if you insist maybe try shoving him into an abyss?

Withers is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be... unnatural.

The thing is i'm thinking of finding my inner gay and become a vampire through romancing Astarion but I'm not into men or being a slave to another vampire. The price to pay for immortality is heavy. Need to off him permanently.

Are you hinting he can be offed permanently with Withers' help?

Pushing him into the sea at the docks and not reviving him at Withers is probably the closest to what you want.
Other than that I would say no.

Out of curiosity, why do you want to permanently delete him?:lunar2020thinkingtiger:

I'm sensing some fragility here :D

I´m not sure if this still works beyond act 1 but in case it does consider sacrificing him to BOOOAL if you want him gone. This way you also get a permanent buff.

Yeah, sorry, I should've added the actual explanation without being coy.

If one of your party members dies (because they were "accidentally" ordered to jump into a chasm, for example), you can entrust them to Withers. That will get rid of them until if and when you decide to retrieve them. No unsightly corpse, no greyed-out portrait, just nothing.

LMAO. Did you let him ascend?

I mean they rounded up all those thousands of souls, what did you do let them go? What a waste of well intended effort and time.

True, but since he turns into an insufferable control freak, you should theoretically be able to kill him, preferably after biting him and becoming a vampire.

Yeah, I'm very disappointed that I went through all that trouble of romancing him and helping him ascend, and the only reward I get out of it, is the mid bite attack that Astarion had all game, while not getting access to the true vampire powers.

Especially since he outright tells you that he'll be allowing you to drink his blood, which according to his description of events (and in the lore proper), should have elevated you up from being a mere spawn.

You can pretty much kill whoever you want so I don't understand why I keep
seeing post like this.

Yeah the blood drinking thing is ridiculous. Larian really needs a continuity editor, and someone who makes sure the story lines make sense. There's a lot in his that does not.

Also, for the most part, his existence as a vampire is almost totally irrelevant to the game. He's immune to sunlight, can enter buildings without an invitation, and they removed his previous weakness of taking damage when exposed to running water. And once the ascends, he gets to keep these invulnerabilities even without the tadpole.

He only tries to forcefully feed on the party during that one cutscene, then it's never brought up again. He also doesn't need to drink blood anymore if you let him ascend.

As it stands now, I don't even know why they decided to make him a vampire in the first place? You get almost none of the authentic vampire experience. As it stands, Astarion comes across as being one of those PC's who's supposed to be super, duper special, because their player wants to distinguish themselves from the rest of the party.
