Remove Origin Characters Altogether?
EDIT because some people aren't getting it: I. Don't. Want. To. Encounter. These. ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Excuses. For. Characters. Their mere presence makes the game worse to me. And like I said: There is a mod for Original Sin 2 that removes the Origin characters completely so you don't encounter them at all. Ever since I started using that mod, my experience playing Original Sin 2 has been significantly better; It makes a difference.

I bought this game back in its Early Access days, but refunded it quickly as hell because I couldn't stand most of the origin characters' personalities, and I couldn't respec the only one I could tolerate into a class that would've been more compatible. This was also before custom companions were an option, so the fact that the game was based on 5e rules meant I couldn't solo it.

So now that this game's been out for a minute, I figure it's a good time to ask: Are there any mods out there that completely remove origin characters from the game? Such that you don't encounter them at all? There's such a mod for Divinity Original Sin 2, and I'd be completely fine with skipping the nautilus ship tutorial level if necessary. And no, I don't want to have to kill every single character as I find them after the nautilus.

"Lone Wolf" mode has a couple options though, although they seem to make you obscenely overpowered based on 5E rules, but I mean, if that's what you're looking for.

This sounds insane as the origin characters are part of what makes the game amazing.

Yeah, no. Here's what I wrote about that back when I tried the game: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1086940/discussions/1/3735204542175612040/

You can walk past original characters without engaging in conversation with them. Then you won’t have to kill them or come into contact with them in any way. You can also play as Lone Wolf. On the Nexus there is a mod for skipping the prologue on Nautiloid.

It may have been changed, but I recall not being able to walk past Astarion or Gale without interacting with them. But by Lone Wolf, do you mean a the type of character stat adjustment that was available in the Original Sin games? If so, I'd be a bit less averse to this game.

Do you know that for a fact, or are you just trying to shut down an opinion that doesn't agree with yours? It's hard to tell from a one-word comment that doesn't have any punctuation.

Most if not all of those are only the surface of the characters. All of them can change for the better and even change to being good if they were evil. Shadowheart, Astarion, and Lae'zel go through the most drastic changes over time that I've seen. You don't have to agree with their actions for this to happen either. Playing as the origin characters can also give you a lot of insight into who they really are as opposed to the persona they wear.

You can respec all of them to different classes and they have Karlach and The Dark Urge added as well. Karlach is probably the most likable of them from the start. You can't remove Origin characters completely but you can just not have them join you with the exception of Lae'zel at the Nautilus and Shadowheart after the crash. You know how to get Withers, right? That is the point that you can get hirelings. Just long rest after you encounter him and talk to him at your camp.

You don't need a mod for that. Just kill / ignore them when you meet them, problem solved.

Play a different game. This one isn't for you. It would be ridiculous to play something you don't like. Absolutely ridiculous.

Don´t recruit them if you don´t like them.

If you get close enough it will activate an interaction but you don't have to group up with them. You have a lot more options and choices available now than in Early Access, and that includes avoiding almost all Origin characters. Take Shadowheart though, even if you don't take her out into the field. I'd rather not say why since it is a spoiler but I will say interacting with Shadowheart beyond joining up with her after the crash isn't necessary.

As I said in the post I linked to: I don't care if they have more to them. Everyone has more to them than what they present on the surface. But if what they present on the surface is a complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, then I don't want to find out what's beneath that, because it's more-than-likely to be ♥♥♥♥. As for the newer characters: After the Original Sin games and the first batch of this game's characters, I have no faith in Larian's ability to write likable companions.

homie you can avoid recruiting them or straight up murder them if you're that annoyed. You can absolutely get to the end of the game without them.

You can just ignore them or knock them out. None of them force you to recruit them lmao.
