But I agree with the folks: half elves ≠ elves so Jaheira's old looks are lore-friendly and justified.
Halsin though? I think they went off rails with the body physique and age on that one. At least in earlier editions elves were all unambiguously slender, unaging and gracious. Well, this one is explained "new times = new standards" (aka the whole D&I stuff that mandates to bend the lore, but eh, DnD isn't the only thing that went through it, so no hard feelings)
