Being evil seems to be impossible on Tactician.
I beat the game already on balanced, but wanted to play again on harder difficulty, and wanted to go evil playthrough.. Well seems that was a bad idea, cause playing this way means you are finishing most fights through dialogue, rather than actual fighting, and not getting as much experience as before. I am at the at a place where on balanced i am normally level 6, but here i am level 4. Very underleveled, with not much else i can do. Might try a different difficulty with this playthough.

Spoilers ahead for act 1.

I'm at the start of act 2 level 7 almost 8 on my evil playthrough (tactician). Don't know what you're doing but you're skipping tons of quests it seems. The only hard part so far was that damn gith patrol (which I was dumb and insisted on doing at level 4. Even with the ogres help it was a massive pain. Only won because of that ring that gives bladeward to anyone you heal, so I kept healing the ogres and they tanked the damage.). Furthermore I didn't kill any of the goblins (except Gut because she's a traitor and I wanted her loot) and have so far not killed any other Absolute cultists. I killed the tieflings, killed the flaming fist, kept alive the Zhenterim though (because they're evil). Wiped out the myconids for the bad sovereign, but I was forced to kill the duergar on the beach. Sided with Nere which aggroed the rest of the duergar. Told the gith about the weapon which seems to always aggro them in the end. I think if you keep that a secret you can stay friendly with them (oh well, for another playthrough then).

I really don't know what you're not doing to only be level 4.

I single handily soloed the entire act 3 as an evil lone wolf on tactician , and this wouldn’t be possible if I wasn’t evil.

Being evil is so OP that I didn’t even take any companions for the final battle , just gave everyone the day off and went and slaughtered the brain on my own.

It’s a LTP issue

Also as far as leveling goes , I was almost lvl 10 by act 3 which is like never on good playthrough, I got to fight a lot more enemies both good and bad .

Playing evil yet finishing most fights through dialogue? Seems backwards to me. On my good playthough i avoided lots of fights through dialogue (you still get XP for resolving encounters through dialogue). On my evil playthough i ending up fighting a lot more.

The problem with an evil playthrough is you tend to get less content overall.

Fortunately, the game provides enough XP that you can skip half the content and still end up max level by the end of the game.

If you're only level 4 at the point specified, Im inclined to think you've missed some content. Evil is a spetrum... a spectrum of opportunities. Just because you "help" someone at one point doesnt mean that you're good, it means you can also recognize their helping you to facilitate your overall evil plans. You dont have to brute force kill or make the most common evil choices at their base levels in dialogs etc.

There's a reddit thread or some yt vid or such where a guy went through to systematically make some of the most ruthelessly evil play through choices that you may want to look at to consider too.

But im near the end of my evil play through on my 2nd run through and I've not really missed much as others claim you will. And I was level 12 almost at the same point that I was when I did my good play through in act 3(ie fairly early). Gear wise, there's actually some better gear for certain choices(like an sharran Shadowheart in act 2 imo.

Truly one isnt worse than another. Just different.
