Confused about "Paid the price" condition
I've seen people say that you can't crit anymore with this condition, but the condition doesn't mention this at all, so is that even true?

(that anyway sux a bit imo because you get disvantage on perception checks! damn!)

The condition reads:
You have a +1 bonus to Intimidation checks, but Disadvantage on Perception checks. Additionally, you have Disadvantage when attacking Hags.
So I guess I can't crit hags (Or you're just extremely unlikely to), but that's about it in that regard, unless its a hidden effect that neither wiki mentions.

Disadvantage doesn't stop crits, it just means you roll twice and take the lowest die. You can then still crit with damage if you manage to hit.

Yeah I just said I'm confused why people are saying it doesn't allow crits, especially when it says the disadvantage only applies to hags, I'm asking if there's a hidden debuff to it or if I'm missing something else.

If the condition doesn't mention it then it's not true. I only got it once briefly to see, and don't remember now. Just that it isn't worth it unless you want to roleplay, but you're better off with Volo's surgery.

Thanks for the clarification.

Simple: it had that effect in Early Access but that was changed/removed for the release version (as it'd be a rather harsh disadvantage).

If you "see people saying that" you should check the date of the post where you read it ;)

Heh, Cthulhu was a minute faster ^^

See the confusing part is that those posts were post-release.

Important note however. The hag's impromptu eye surgery is mutually exclusive with Volo's eye surgery, as you dont want to be blinded.

Also, Wyll wont accept either of the eye surgeries, as he only have one good eye. The second being Mizora's spystone.

Edit: Re-read the thread. Interesting changes to the Hag's offer however. Definitely makes it more palatable. And as long you arent a perception spotter the debuff doesnt matter too much. But yes, +1 intimidation is fairly weaksauce compared to see invisible.

I wouldn't mind the "noi more crits" if it had a better bonus on intimidation, it'd be a huge debuff so it'd require like a +5 or something on intimidation.
Yes you'd never crit, but intimidation would become a near-guaranteed success.

I do wish Wyll could replace his spystone eye, do something about the Mizora turning the new eye into a spystone, wyll would look a lot better with Volo's eye, or an eyepatch?
