Patch 3 - Animate Dead Skeleton no weapon
is there a rule that I miss or patch 3 animate dead broke?

currently using cleric, before my skeleton come with a bow

Same I'm on the last 2 3 fights of the game (necromancer) and I just got nerfed big time. I'm going to use zombies but aren't as useful

Yea, it seems they broke something after a patch. Previously it worked fine, and now skeletons are summoned without a weapon. I wouldn't have a problem with it if we could equip them with a weapon but it's not possible. Hopefully, they will quickly fix it because in my last two battles, zombies didn't do much.

Oof, guess I'll keep waiting before I make a necromancer wizard. At least they disabled summon reactions.

Strictly speaking, RAW, the skeletons made from animate dead shouldn't have any weapons/armor UNLESS the body they were raised from did. So animating a skeleton from a corpse that had a dagger should result in a skeleton with a dagger. That said, from a convince and game play perspective making them raise with a bow is good but it is immersion breaking.

mine broke after an enemy caused my skeleton to drop it's bow, then future summons no longer came with a bow, also tried all i could think of, restarting game, dismissing summons, long resting etc.

Edit : Just tried upcasting it, ALL 3 skeletons raised without bows

i consider this as well but, any weapon that i drop, the skeleton cannot pick it, it say, "cannot be added to inventory"

I tried everything and they just can't use them anymore it seems. Nothing works. Not even upcasting it.

Same here, no weapons. I'm yet to try to animate a corpse that has a bow or sword, I will do that next but also I cannot equip them with anything. It seems buggy. They did start with a weapon prepatch.

The worst part is that they dropped this patch on Friday so no hotfixes until Monday AT BEST.
This bug is incredibly annoying, I'm playing coop with my friend as necromancer wizard and was forced to raise zombies when ranged minions were much more preferable
so you can pickpocket the skeleton and there bow is in there inventory and it dose the normal shortbow damage but also 1d 10 necrotic

Range skeleton defo not ranged. Thought I was just raising them from the wrong type of corpse or something. Guess not :(

I really hope Larian fixes this soon, started a Necromancer recently, just got to the level I can summon skeletons......only to find out the "ranged" summon has no bow and has to go up and hit things for 1 damage with it's bony fist.... level 1 spells are better.....

I was nearing the end of my necro campaign when this bug hit, I was never a fan of zombies because I didn't know they had an amazing abillity. After they hit an enemy an it dies a new zombie is born right away! This was so good in the final fight against the tectacles . I'm a zombie fan now!

Personally would prefer it if they allowed Skeletons to have different weapons and equipment, like give you a choice between archer, soldier, assassin, with a skeleton being made with a bow, a sword and shield, or a dagger and capable of stealth and throwing knives.

Though, of course, first they need to fix the skeleton showing up with no weapons at all....
