Spoilers, too:
For 200 years, he never had anything, much less a relationship, that was just his. He had to give it all to Cazador. He wants to make you happy, so he agrees, but he's not okay with it, not really. I'm not looking into things that aren't there, either. There's subtle hints. The Drow Twins scene, for example.
This is what made me realize that I should reject Halsin in that playthrough. Which reminds, me, I still haven't romanced Halsin.
In the end, Halsin leaves you anyway, so its just you and Astarion anyway, which is kind of cute. I don't think it makes a difference for the romance itself, does it?
He didn't reject the drow twins for me on my playthrough, and Halsin even joined in to make things into a 4 way orgy.
Once Astarion becomes ascended, he completely abandons any trace of 'humanity' he once possessed and becomes a full blown monster. If you pass a high DC when asking him to turn you into a vampire, you can probe his mind to find out that he thinks you're debasing yourself by doing this and he's lost any respect for you. Not only that, but during the end credits scene, you have the option of telling him you want to break up, to which he rejects the idea and tells you you're bound to him forever.
He's an elf, not a human. Also, you're overlooking the fact that Astarion literally had no choice in his actions until the mind flayers abducted him.
Vampire Spawn are bound to the will of their sires. They do not have the capacity to defy them, meaning that Astarion was forced to obey any order Cazador gave him, no matter how cruel or perverse it may have been.
Being infected with the tadpole is the first taste of freedom he's had in 200 years, and he's hell bent on enjoying it to the absolute fullest. But if you don't go down the ascension route with him, he eventually reveals that he is deeply suffering from the trauma that was inflicted upon him.
Depends upon your choices. He's not human btw ;P
I'm not entirely sure, but I imagine it's because he didn't actually feel like our relationship was threatened. At this point in the game, I had already helped him ascend and had him turn my character into his spawn before hiring the drow.
So A) he had abandoned his humanity and sense of morals, and B) if he wanted our relationship to remain monogamous, he could have simply ordered it.
His elfanity?
You mean being a flamboyant drama queen with a superiority complex? No, I'd say that's still fully intact.
