Lightning bolt has really wonky targeting in this game. It gets blocked by nothing half the time.
Yea OP knows that and said as much.
Meantime she keeps the team bugged with haste and heals.
One of my most powerful characters , always have her on every playthrough
Learn the class, learn to multi class and learn to play in general
With a life cleric the healing is no longer ♥♥♥♥. There are also a couple of items that give bless and blade ward for 1-2 turns to anyone you heal, which is straight up broken. Also Spirit Guardians is always a nice source of damage.
If you need your cleric to have more offensive power, you can relegate all of the scrolls to it. Vanilla Shadowheart is kick ass, IMO and even OP once you learn her. I usually bless the party then I teleport, while using spirit guardians to hit a pack of enemies and block a certain corridor where any enemies moving forward are likely to get hit. Also, you can summon a weapon apparition which is not a concentrated spell and can be used simultaneously.
Vanilla Shadowheart is actually OP if you’re playing her correctly. I have her wield enchanted items with offensive spells too, like the whip which is a cantrip. Moreover, If you follow her questline, she gets shadowstep. Using shadowstep and then an offensive scroll etc is also OP as hell.
Someone’s gotta use all of the scrolls you find. Why not the cleric. If you upgrade her wisdom with feats she deals massive damage with scrolls
That being said, you should only have one cleric in a party. A wizard, sorcerer, or druid are more offensive minded and not such a balanced class as cleric. But clerics are extremely dynamic thus there are intangibles in play here when the battles themselves are dynamic
Best way is to cast spirit guardian and run into a crowd of enemies. It totally destroys all of their attack rolls - and the penalty gets worse every turn they take radiant damage.
