This is already a painful conversation. I have no idea why you'd bother with that distinction.
That makes two of us, I don't know why you would insist on labeling an item an easter egg. It literally is the same item from their previous game being reused for the same purpose.

But by all means you do you.

The hell you talking about? It's an Easter egg.
Sure you can call it an easter egg if you want, but by definition 'easter eggs' are hidden little treats of reference, not front page advertising.

Yeah, to me an 'easter egg' would only mean something to someone 'in the know'. In other words, to someone who familiar with DOS2. One would hope, at least, that the item isn't named Fane's Mask in-game and its in-game description doesn't have DOS references. I guess time will tell.

It's a forum alt that's less than a week old from a troll who is ban-evading.
My suggestion is this: Leave it alone and it,ll perish from starvation.

Hey man just because you did it first doesn't mean others aren't allowed, that's just mean.

Its not much of a story since you've already told it. Just change the 'less than a week' to however old 'Arianus' is.

Which seems to be.. a month, almost to a day!

Dungeons and Dragons has been a multiverse long before many other franchises. All official D&D worlds are connected. Faerun, Ebberon, Greyhawk, Ravenloft, and Krynn, etc.

Yeah, but not in the same sense (all tabletop systems had multiverses, I used to play GURPS back in the 90s, it was the same). I'm talking about the fact that every publisher makes cross references, easter eggs, even the items themselves across all their products. I actually really loved the first time I saw a Thunderfury drop in Diablo 3, but nowadays it's just too common.

Not really complaining tough, I just don't care for those anymore (unless someone tries to make NFTs out of them) - altough I actually ike Fane's helm design quite a lot.
I dunno, there's always been a lot of video games referencing other games by the same developer somehow. This isn't new - to say the least. Ever asked about Loom?

And plenty of referencing other media - so many Star Trek references

Though I would say it's a problem when they make the best items references instead of cool new stuff, because they're relying on nostalgia and not producing new things that people want. Blizzard.

Go on then. Tell me what's made you think I'm anybody's alt?
But your random and unfounded accusation has left me with two options narrowed down as to who you are. Turns out I was wrong about my prior guesses all along.
So which are you? Jon or haasi?

This would be a lot more dramatic if BG3 wasn't entirely built AND based on something that already exists. 🤷 Like the item the thread is about, for example.

About as random as your accusations.

BG3 is built and based on Fane's mask?

Dang, I would never have guessed.

Oh well. I,ll find out which you are either way when one of them gets unbanned.
That will be a laugh and a half.

Hehe, deflecting is always a good counterargument.

I don't think sarcastic agreement is exactly the same as deflection - it kinda invites further explanation while expressing my skepticism that there is any.
