That's a tough one, The Splint(Plate armor) its Top 3 best Armor pieces, I don't feel like the shield is good enough to make unless it going to a completely different member and even then its only good cause of the immunity to crit.
- to make my talk shorter, I lean on Splint and Mace, While long sword has more versatility with members, there are fewer enemies resistant to Blunt weapons and given that it always crits on objects like chest and doors, you can avoid having a lock picker if you're out of tools.
They didn't want what I offered, so when I went back after the BIG fight, they were gone. Not sure if they escaped or were evaporated...
First playthrough was medium armor and shield.
That does not seem to be the case anymore, as they now just bypass damage resistance and inflict auto crits on objects.
So now I've been forging the shield and one of the armor pieces, usually Splint.
